This was an entertaining read. In the past I have stayed away from cozy mysteries with male lead characters because I could not buy a man being a "nosy busybody". This book fixes the problem by having the lead character come right out and say that he is starting an amateur detective agency. The supporting characters are a tremendous help because they are like an extension of the lead character. If you put them altogether they would make a typical Jessica Fletcher type character.
The plot is solid and the mystery is thoroughly plotted. All in all it's a good book. However, the lead character spends too much time thinking about how perfect his wife is and how lucky he is to have her. That takes away from the realism of his male character.
This was one of the best yet in the series. Not only was it funny, but well written and thoroughly engaging. As always, Jaine and her father get into all types of silly situations that made me gasp and blush with shame. I couldn't put it down. I'm hooked. I bought the next three books and will buy the rest of the series as well. I highly recommend this series. The narrator does a great job with the voices. Even though I don't like Prozac, I love the way Brittany Pressley brings her to life.
This is the best book of the series so far. It is funny, witty and clever. Jane takes after her father in that they both get involved in cringe worthy but funny situations. I laughed out aloud as I listened to this book. The murder mystery developed slowly but picked up and moved fast. There were lots of red herrings to prevent guessing the killer. The narrator did a good job with all of the voices. I would recommend Laura Levine to anyone who like cozy mysteries. I'm off to download the next book in the series.
This is an entertaining and funny mystery. It has a quick pace with enough twists and turns to keep you interested. This is proving to be a funny series with great characters and witty dialogue. The mystery is light hearted and not very easy to figure out. I would recommend this book and series.
Killer Blonde is the forth novel in the Jaine Austen Mystery series. Jaine is a great character. She's funny, clever and brave. The plot was entertaining and realistic and the pacing was fast with enough twists and turns to keep me turning the pages. I really enjoyed the emails between Jaine and her parents. I wish Jaine would dump Prozac and get a nice dog. I look forward to the next book.
This is a bit different from the other books, but, still very good. The characters are very interesting and the plot well thought out. Joe and Faye are great as parents. This series gets better and better. I look forward to the next book.
This is a pretty good book in a pretty good series. The plot was good and the story was entertaining.
This is another addition to a great series. Jacobia is at her best in this latest installment. The subject matter was dark and complex. The book was very good with a fast pace that kept me turning the pages.
This was on the dark side of cozy. It still had the cozy feel that Sarah Graves created in Eastport Maine. But, the plot was dark with lots of twist and turns. I loved it. I can't wait for the next book.
Georgina is a great character. She is realistic, flawed, vulnerable, brave and loyal. She struggles through difficult situations and never gives up. This is a great book and Georgina is a great character. This is well worth a credit.
This is a very good mystery with a touch of romance. Max Maguire is smart, attractive and a rash. However, her courageousness is both a flaw and an assest. Max and Olivier make a great team. Brava!!!
