I love cozy mysteries that feature cooks. However, I could not love this book. My life is far from perfect, and I don't know anyone who has a perfect life. There for I could not read about such a person. Her biggest problem is that her mother is a nag. It made no since for her to be involved in solving the problem in the story. Her brother-in-law, a police asked her to nose around an help him get a promotion. He might not need a promotion if Hannah is going to solve the crime. Everyone is thrilled to talk to Hannah and spill all of their secrets. She goes to a casino, and even though she doesn't gamble or even like to gamble, she wins a jackpot. I wish my life could be that easy. I confess I did not finish the book. I could not. I like my mysteries to have realistic characters with realistic lives. This was not one of those books. I will however buy the recipe book that Joanne Fluke is going to put out with recipes from this series.
This was an enjoyable and quick read. The characters were likeable and the story was engaging.
This is a very enjoyable story. Realistic and engaging characters, an interesting plot and enough red herrings to make this a very good mystery. I was halfway through the book when I decided to buy the rest of the books in the series. I recommend this series to everyone who likes mysteries.
The story was formulaic. The characters were flat and the mystery was predictable. But it was light, fluffy and quick. I recommend it for a day when you have a lot to do and need background noise.
I have read all of the books in this series and I'm always impressed with the fresh storylines that Leslie Meier creates for Lucy. This was a very good story. I especially enjoyed the backstory and the political intrigue. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
This was an entertaining and quick read. The mystery had a few nice twists and turns. Faith gets involved in another mystery and this time gets to go undercover. This is a fun addition to the series. I hope the rest of the series becomes available on Audible so I can listen to them as well.
This is a great series. I love Maddy and her imperfect life. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would.
This was the funniest and most engaging of the series. The story is well written with funny characters and twists and turns to keep the plot moving. The interesting tidbits about the places in France and the poignant World War 2 stories added substance to the fluffy nature of the story. I would love to travel with Emily and the Iowa seniors. They are funny and entertaining. I hope this isn't the last book in the series. This book is a must read.
This was very entertaining book. I enjoyed the characters and plot. I look forward to the next book in the series.
This book was not for me. I didn't like the subject matter so I stopped reading early into the book. Maybe I will pick it up another day and enjoy it. That being said, I didn't want to give it a negative rating. I do think the a professional narration would make it better.
This was another funny and entertaining addition to a great series. Emily is back with her Iowa seniors and Etiene. Jackie skipped this trip, which was fine with me. I would love to take a trip with this group and be a part of the fun.
