For Colorado caterer Goldy Schulz, business isn't just booming - it's skyrocketing. But as her friend Marla is constantly warning her, "success can kill you." Goldy knows she needs to slow down before she breaks down, and she vows she'll do it - right after her next booking: a cocktail party for the Westside Mall's Elite Shoppers Club.

I've read every book in the series up to this one. For the most part, they are always entertaining, and fun. This book however is overshadowed by the behavior of Goldy's son Archie. I realize that as teenagers get older they become more difficult, but that is when parenting becomes a verb and not a noun. His constant whining and disrespectful behavior towards Goldy ruins the book. Davidson still delivers a clever mystery and all is well in the end, but I almost didn't make it to the end. I would still recommend it to fans of the series.

This is another good addition to the Orchid Mystery Series. Meg stumbles on to a body on her property and once again she has to solve the crime. This story is very entertaing and I like the way that the characters are developing. I'm disappointed that the recipes were not included, but I have been told that the technical team is looking into it.

When the most influential spiritualist in town, Tilda Armistead, invites Faye and her project assistant to commune with the dead, she can't say no. I have listened to all of the books in the Faye Longchamp series. Each is better than the one before. The characters and plot are likeable and realistic. The plot flows at a good pace so you never get bored. I strongly recommend this to anyone who enjoys a little history mixed in with their mysteries.

If there’s such a thing as luck, Lily Harper definitely doesn’t have it. Killed in a car accident before it’s her time to go, Lily learns that the hereafter isn’t exactly what she hoped it might be. First, there’s AfterLife Enterprises, the company responsible for sorting out the recently dead and sending them on their way to the Kingdom, (aka happily ever after,) or to the Underground City, (not so happily ever after.)

This book was not for me. I started it because it was $1.99 after getting the free Kindle addition. I wish I would have stuck with just the free Kindle version. The lead character, Lily, was annoying and whiny. Bill was vulgar and obnoxious. The dialogue was anything but funny. The plot made me roll my eyes several times. I don't have any thing good to say about this book.

The main problem with this book was the lead character Meg. She's professionally and emotionally immature throughout the book. She's desperate to keep her job but then doesn't meet her deadline. She crushes on her boss like she's twelve and pushes away a viable relationship with her best friend, Matt. Even though she pushes him away she can't help but notice how physically fit he is. It took me a while to get in to the story and but it turned out to be ok. I will probably get the next book.

I enjoy this series for what it is: a light cozy mystery with recipes. However, the recipes are not included in this version. I had to buy the Kindle version after I already bought the audiobook version. I was very upset. However, the book was good and I enjoyed reading about Katie and her friends solving another murder while creating delicious treats.

The ever after, the demonic realm that parallels our own, is shrinking, and if it disappears, so does all magic. It’s up to witch-turned-daywalking-demon Rachel Morgan to fix the ever-after before the fragile balance between magic users and humans fails. Of course, there’s also the small fact that she caused the ley line to rip in the first place, and her life is forfeit unless she can fix it.
