The life of noted man of letters Esmond Chadleigh is celebrated in the halls of Bracketts House, though most of his work remains out of print, leaving Bracketts out of funds. Carole Seddon can keep Bracketts running, in exchange for assistance on her Chadleigh biography. But the trustees are afraid the biographer is only interested in rooting out the skeletons in Chadleigh's closet, especially after uncovering one in his garden.

This is an entertaining addition to the Fethering series. Jude and Carole do a splendid job of investigating a murder. There are more information and insights into Jude's private life. Carole does her best to put up a stiff upper lip and not pry into Jude's life. Worth the time effort and credit.

I was surprised that this book was so good. The world that Stephanie Nelson created was unique and believable. The characters were well developed and realistic. The pace was fast and engaging. I haven't liked a new series this much in a while. I highly recommend this book.

When her grandmother is murdered, Liz high-tails it back to her South Carolina island home to find the killer. But when her police-chief brother shuts her out of the investigation, she opens her own. Then her long-dead best friend pops in and things really get complicated.

When Hollywood invades Savannah's historic district to film a Revolutionary War movie, magical baker Katie Lightfoot and her witches' coven, the Spellbook Club, take a break from casting spells for casting calls. One of the witches snags a part as an extra, while Katie's firefighter boyfriend, Declan, acts as on-set security. Katie and her Aunt Lucy decide to stay out of the action, but after the movie's "fixer" fires the caterer, the Honeybee Bakery comes to the rescue, working their magic to keep the hungry crew happy.

I enjoy this series for what it is: a light cozy mystery with recipes. However, the recipes are not included in this version. I had to buy the Kindle version after I already bought the audiobook version. I was very upset. However, the book was good and I enjoyed reading about Katie and her friends solving another murder while creating delicious treats.

The ever after, the demonic realm that parallels our own, is shrinking, and if it disappears, so does all magic. It’s up to witch-turned-daywalking-demon Rachel Morgan to fix the ever-after before the fragile balance between magic users and humans fails. Of course, there’s also the small fact that she caused the ley line to rip in the first place, and her life is forfeit unless she can fix it.

This is a very entertaining book with a complex storyline. But, Harrison handles it well and you never get lost or bored. Rachel is at her best with the help of her friends. There is a lot of action and character development. This is one of the best examples of an urban fantasy series.

For a 2,000-year-old Druid, Atticus O’Sullivan is a pretty fast runner. Good thing, because he’s being chased by not one but two goddesses of the hunt - Artemis and Diana - for messing with one of their own. Dodging their slings and arrows, Atticus, Granuaile, and his wolfhound Oberon are making a mad dash across modern-day Europe to seek help from a friend of the Tuatha Dé Danann. His usual magical option of shifting planes is blocked, so instead of playing hide-and-seek, the game plan is...run like hell.

This is a great series. As always, Mercy is on top of her game. She handles everything with her usual aplomb and snarky attitude. The ending was a bit abrupt. I had hoped to see Adam stick up for Mercy to Christie. Other than that I had no complaints. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

This is a quick read with a well written and well plotted story line. The main characters are easy to like and very realistic. The mystery is interesting and fast paced. As for the cats, they might be growing on me. Owen and Hercules add lots of humor to the story. I enjoyed listening to this and will listen to the next book if Audible acquires it.
