I look for to the Abby Cooper mysteries. This book was no different. For the most part I enjoyed it. The mystery was solid, Dutch and Abbey were great. However, the book lost a star with Abby's sister Cat and MJ. #1 I don't like when books go back and forth with the past and present. It doesn't increase the suspense it only becomes a distraction. #2 The inclusion of MJ and Gilley was annoying. The two characters were out of place and didn't add to the progression of the story. They could have been eliminated and Candace and Milo could have played a bigger role in the story. #3 Cat was completely out of character. In the past she has always been a little over the top. But she has never been so obnoxious and over bearing. I expected her to plan an extravagant wedding, but I also expected the wedding to be sophisticated and stylish. The wedding that she planned did not reflect anyone's style. It was actually tacky and offensive. If it was meant to include humor into the story it fell far from it's mark. #4 although Abby's parents were mentioned in the book and it was explained why they would not be attending the wedding, I expected them to attend anyway. In previous books they were described as social climbers and wanting to be in the center of attention. Plus they have a relationship with Cat. The addition of the parents could have served as comic relief and unnecessary drama instead of including MJ and Gilley, and going back and forth with the past and present. I found myself skipping through the book at some points because it was too much. I will buy the next book but if it continues to over exaggerate comic situations I might have to say goodbye to Abby and Dutch.
The star of this book was the narrator. She did a great job with the accents. I can't say too much about the book. I didn't find the characters or plot believable. It just didn't grab me.
This is an engaging and interesting series. I hope there are more books to come in the future. The characters are fun and the story moves at fast pace.
I'm not an animal lover, and I had reservations about the animal aspect of this story. I'm happy I gave this book a chance. This was an interesting book with characters that I really enjoyed getting to know. The plot moved along at a nice pace and the mystery had several twist and turns. This is a very good way to spend a lazy day.
I am so happy that I discovered this series. Each book gets better and better. I enjoyed the progression of the characters development. I enjoyed the mystery and the mixture of history and archeology. This series is very fresh and interesting.
This is a great series. Faye and the rest of the characters are very likable and intersting. The plot is believable and quickly paced. I would recommend this series to anyone.
As always, Faye rocks. Even pregnant Faye manages to save the day. This is a very good series that blends history and present day. I love it!
This was an okay read. I fely like I was readind the Maltease Falcon. The story had a throwback noir feeling. The story lasted to long. It seemed to go on and on at some points. I might read the next book. It wasn't bad, just not for me.
This book was fun and fast paced with many twists and turns. I look forward to the next book and the progression of the different storylines. I especially want to see what happens with the sister and ex fiance. I recommend this book to anyone who likes mysteries.
I enjoyed this book very much. I loved the characters and how the story progressed. I will read the next book.
This was a very interesting and quick read. It had interesting characters and a believable plot. I'm looking forward to the next book.
