"Loved it!"
This is a book that I will listen to again. I think Tina Fey is amazingly funny and especially enjoyed that she narrated her book. She is one entertainer that I would love to have for a friend. The only complaint about the book is that I wish it had been longer.
"Z Best!"
The story is so real I felt I knew the Fitzgeralds; the narration was amazing. This is truly a love story that is heartbreaking.
I would compare this to the movie, The Way We Were.
Ms. Lamia made me feel that I was hearing Zelda speak; she made Zelda come alive for me.
I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book; even the happiness in the Fitzgeralds' lives brought tears to my eyes. They were so in love but were just not good for each other.
I loved listening to this book.
"Remembering Camelot"
Although I didn't read the print version of Killing Kennedy, I don't believe it could be better because I so much enjoyed listening to Bill O'Reilly's outstanding narration of this book. His fast-paced narration doesn't give one an opportunity of losing interest and I found it difficult to find a place to stop listening.
Well, obviously, John F. Kennedy is the favorite character, but I thought the book brought to life all the characters involved in Camelot. The insight into Jacqueline Kennedy made me respect and miss her even more.
There are so many moving moments in this book; I believe the authors captured the human side of the President, First Lady, and every character mentioned in this book.
I tend to gravitate toward any book written about the Kennedys and believe I have read or listened to most. I wasn't disappointed in this story and Mr. O'Reilly does an outstanding narration. Even if all of the details weren't completely accurate, this telling of "Camelot" provided a brief look into the personal stories of so many of the people that were a part of President Kennedy's reign. I would recommend this listen to all.
"Charming story"
I loved the story line and the characters; Mr. Walter combined simple "old world" lives with the craziness of Hollywood and did an excellent job. All of the characters in this story seemed so honest in their perspective of their lives and I wanted to learn more about each of them from the start. I thoroughly enjoyed how the author tied the lives of the characters together and to real life.
There are so many memorable moments in this beautifully-written book; my most memorable are when each character realized what they had done with their lives. The author shared such intimate thoughts of all characters, but Pasquel's thoughts and recognition of everyday occurrences are especially heartwarming.
His narration is captivating; his inflections are wonderful to hear.
The author keeps you guessing about the characters and in that sense I wanted to keep listening, but on the other hand I didn't want the story to end.
I don't think anyone would be disappointed in this book.
"Another great Robicheaux novel"
I really enjoyed listening to this book. Even though these stories can be gruesome and violent, Mr. Burke's writing style is poetic throughout the book and Mr. Patton's reading is perfect.
Dave Robicheaux because he has another "star" performance.
His voice and recitation make this a great listen.
Not sure.
I've thought about these books becoming movies because I really enjoy the characters, but I'm afraid we would lose the poetic verse in Dave's thoughts.
"Keeping me"
This is the first review I have written and I just had to do it. I am about half way through the book and it's great! I really believe it is more true that fiction! I had reservations about downloading such a huge book, but I am enthralled. I was afraid that it would be too confusing listening to this type of book, due to both the subject and the length, but it is so interesting I can't wait to get time to listen to it. It is written in such a way that it is easy to follow and the narration is exceptional. What a great book!
