"It's ok"
Sort of kept my attention. It really is ok but not great!
"JL Burke does it again."
Burke must be the best American author of our day! His novels continue to amaze me and keep me engrossed. I particularly enjoy the Dave Robicheaux novels but almost anything he pens is good to me.
"Good stuff"
This is good. Period. Worth buying and it will keep your attention. As usual Berry spins a pretty good yarn. I enjoyed it all the way through.
"Fast paced"
Great story on audio! Well conceived plot without divergences. Worth the moolah.
"It's Just So-So"
Clearly, the author's politics gets in the way of the story. And that's too bad. As one of the characters said, "I feel like I'm in a bad movie." The dialogue is trite at times and pedantic.
"Classic Koontz"
A good one and at times I did not want to stop listening in order to do something else I had to do.
"Awful!"
Save your money. Pass on this one. It is not up to her earlier standards.
"Less than I expected"
The premise seemed promising to me. But as a man, I thought the use of various accent motifs was way over done. This whole yarn left me wishing it would end already. The device of moving back and forth through history is not new and I guess it is the only thing that makes this story work.
