  • The Jakarta Pandemic

    • UNABRIDGED (16 hrs and 5 mins)
    • By Steven Konkoly
    • Narrated By Joseph Morton

In the late fall of 2013, a lethal pandemic virus emerges from the Islamic Republic of Indonesia (IRI) and rages unchecked across every continent. When the Jakarta Flu threatens his picture-perfect Maine neighborhood, Alex Fletcher, Iraq War veteran, is ready to do whatever it takes to keep his family safe. As a seasoned sales representative for Biosphere Pharmaceuticals, makers of a leading flu virus treatment, Alex understands what a deadly pandemic means for all of them.

    "Gripping; a really world example..."

This was an excellent read. This was more about what happens to the guy next door then the world as a whole. A very localized and realistic story for my tastes without the added gore that is replete of most of the genera. I am awaiting the next one from Steven Konkoly.

  • Sanctuary: A Postapocalyptic Novel (The New World, Book 3)

    • UNABRIDGED (8 hrs and 16 mins)
    • By G. Michael Hopf
    • Narrated By Keith Szarabjka
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Months after a super-EMP attack devastated the United States, the country is now unrecognizable. Major cities are run by gangs, survivors are dying of starvation and the government is falling victim to lawlessness. Those who were prepared for the end find that they weren't really prepared at all. While some seek vengeance for their losses, others are determined to restore the nation. Gordon, Samantha, Sebastian, Barone, Connor and Pablo are all on different paths, but they are all in search of a home away from chaos.

    C. Dissmore says: "Good 3rd book. Do NOT change narrators mid-series"
    "Please Bring back Joseph Morton"

This is a good series and I like the character development and that it is written as a retrospective. However being a Audible customer since 2002 and owning over 500 book. It baffles my mind when the narrator is changed in mid-stream! Joseph Morton is great. Why change! This same thing happen in Steven Konkoly book series after the Jakarta Pandemic. It take the cadence and the, for a lack of a better word, the feel of the story.

  • City of the Dead

    • UNABRIDGED (9 hrs and 40 mins)
    • By Brian Keene
    • Narrated By Peter Delloro

Where can you go when the dead are everywhere? Cities have become overrun with legions of the dead, all of them intent on destroying what's left of the living. Trapped inside a fortified skyscraper, a handful of survivors prepare to make their last stand against an unstoppable, undying enemy. With every hour their chances diminish and their numbers dwindle, while the numbers of the dead can only rise. Because sooner or later, everything dies. And then it comes back, ready to kill.

Andrea says: "Good Story, Bad Narrator"
"Save Your Money and or Credits!"

Gave this 3 hours to develop.... never did. The narration of the book was more horrible then the development of this book. I felt like some strange uncle at summer camp is telling me “a story”.
