The volume that completes the verse: All things bright and beautiful, All creatures great and small, All things wise and wonderful, The Lord God made them all. These are the memoirs of James Herriot, the world's most beloved veterinarian.

Alison says: "Just as good as the others"
    "Great listen"
    Overall

I've always enjoyed the Herriot books and having grown up with the TV series, it was wonderful to hear them read by Christopher Timothy (who plays James). This is a very relaxing listen.
Christopher Timothy reads these wonderfully, during the humourous anecdotes you can hear him smiling.

  • A Seaside Practice: Tales of a Scottish Country Doctor

Heartwarming and gloriously eccentric, Dr Tom's stories capture the beauty of the Lowlands, the joys and sorrows of its inhabitants and the richly rewarding experiences of life as a Scottish country doctor.

    Donna says: "Enjoyable"
"If you like James Herriot you'll like this too"
    Overall

I really enjoyed this. It was read by the author who has a charming, soft Scottish accent which I really loved to listen to. His reading is a little stilted at times, but his accent more than made up for it to me.
Similar to the Herriot stories (but a Doctor's life in Scotland rather than a vet in Yorkshire) as with Herriot it's the eccentric and colourful locals who make this book interesting.
I would definitely recommend it for an enjoyable listen.

James Herriot is one of the most beloved storytellers of our time, a writer whose rich and unique literary gifts are matched by an exuberant gift for celebrating existence. His tales have brought joy to millions, and now the country veterinarian brings us another memorable collection of stories.

And don't miss James Herriot's Cat Stories!

I really enjoyed this. I grew up watching the narrator play James Herriot in the British T.V. series and don't think I could imagine any one else reading this. He reads it really well. As he reads the stories you can hear the warmth and humour in his voice. You can even almost "hear" him smiling.
    I would definitely recommend it.
