Practical advice. Good book from some one who is not talking from observation alone but also experience.

I found this book to be Alright. While the techniques told by the author are all very good and effective, the examples used by the author lacked subtlety and sophistication. I'm not sure that praising someone's hair outright would make it an instant win over his heart (we are not talking of a girl-guy thing here).

Good book though as the basic premise of this book - how to win friends and influence people, is amply solved by author. He offers sound practical techniques with plenty of examples.

I must congratulate Mr. Friedman for writing this excellent book about the flattening of the world. He discusses in detail the characteristics of todays technology and how it crosses the physical barriers and makes the world flat. Mr. Friedman is truely democratic citizen of this world - not just America. He is one of those individuals who are brimming with energy and enthusiasm about the future of our world and growing friendly relations between countries because of the integration of their economic systemsw a result of global supply chains and multi-nationals.

While this book will serve to help you prepare better for the future and be a highly valued individual of the society of tomorrow, this book is also a source of inspiration for all the peoples of this world. Good Job Mr. Friedman! I look forward to your future writings.

This is a good book. Slightly outdated compared to the newer book "The World is Flat" by the same author. It would be good to read both the books because I think they supplement each other.

This book is good although the talk is more from observation than really experiencing it. But it is observation at its best. Good and correct points made by the author give this book true practical value.

It is a good book in general. It brings out the challenges involved in making any substantial changes to any large society/community. It brings out the efforts involved, and the kind of sufferings that poor people face in many parts of the world. It does not talk about all the sufferings that poor face, or all the poor societies but it does talk about the medical conditions in many developing countries.
So this book is useful in two ways. First, the challenges involved in changing. Second, an insight into poorer societies' medical conditions. The state of affairs in such societies are really what they are even today in many developing counties. I being from one, know that to be true.
I believe that many people can help, just like farmer did (the main character in the book). If not on a very big level, there are smaller, much easier levels on which people can help other people. There are thousands that die every day of hunger! Can you believe that? Have you been hungry one full day and seen how it is?

I didnt enjoy this book at all. It is too much into the exact historical details and stuff like that. Unless you are researching into this particular subject, this book is probably not suitable for a general reading. It does talk about the miseries of the prisoners, but it concerns too much about the historical details. I would be more interested in an overview of the scale of such conditions, and the motives, the effects (sufferings), etc. The content seemed to lack the ability to drag the listener into the heart of the matter.
However, the book is more credible that any other books written on such subjects. It is based on actual events etc. and the author should be given due credit for it.

Utterly boring, amateurish writing with no sophistication, no subtlety... nothing but useless crap! how disgusted I am... just 1 hr left (I hope)...
looks artificially stretched.. utterly superficial at times.. kiddish content! how can all u people read it! are all popular books like thiS?

I didn't enjoy this book. I wont say much, other than that, to me, it seems that to lack any objective whatsoever. I could use my time studying something more useful.

This is a nice book - if you put away your critiques and simply decide to listen away a story (may I call it a folk tale). Don't expect any scholarly stuff here, just the enjoyment of a fun tale (a bit twisted and elongated). It was a fun reading.
It was very disheartening to realize that this book is not the complete story. It is left half dangling in between. It would be very nice of Audible.com to indicated by naming it Book 1 or something. At the end you are left without a completed story and just a minor closure. That was very bad. How am I supposed to know that this book does not conclude the story.
But nevertheless, I did enjoy the listening. It wasn't bad. I wish they have the second book (or what ever completes the story) out too. Not a masterpiece. A trifle rather.

I found this book an amusing but an insightful account of the adventures and lives of Mr Feynman. Mr Feynman, a nobel prize winner physicist, amuses the reader through out the book. However, deeper than the superficial fun and adventures, is an intellectual fun loving man who encourages thinking and understanding. Somehow and for some reason, I appreciate such people who think in life. Mr Feynman is one of them. His book shows how simple thinking enhances the flavour of our lives and how everyone should make some efforts to think in life. Think about what? Thats upto you to think out ;)

A fun book for the scientific mind. Might be a fun listening for everyone (mostly) I believe.
