As an extremely wealthy laird, Gowan Stoughton, Duke of Kinross, can have any of the maidens at the ball he attends. The only problem is they are all English and Gowan is not so certain they are suitable. He is accustomed to the hard-working lasses from his Highlands, not these dainty noblewomen who spend their days drinking tea or some other such nonsense. But then he makes the acquaintance of Lady Edith Gilchrist. Utterly bewitched by the emerald-eyed beauty with lush golden locks, he knows he must have her.

Fun, romantic and constant. Never a dull moment.
I'm constantly amazed at how Eloisa James can write a story so vivid that I can't put it down.

I can't believe how these books are out of order. Days of gold #1 . Scent of Jasmine #2. I don't know where the 5th one falls I'm reading that now. I loved this book and the narrator was much better then Lavender morning and Scarlet nights . I wish the order was right and a good narrator read them all but this is a very good series and I recommend them highly.

Action, Adventure, Intrigue plus weaving the past with the present. What more could you want. The only problem was the narrator's attempt at imitating male voices, she did a good job except for that.

Jocelyn Minton is a woman torn between two worlds. Her mother grew up attending private schools and afternoon teas, but she married the local handyman. After her mother died when Joce was only five years old, her father remarried into his own class, and Joce became an outsider - until she met Edilean Harcourt. Although she was sixty years Joce's senior, Miss Edi was a kindred soul who understood her like no one else ever had. When Miss Edi passes away, she leaves Joce all her worldly possessions, including an eighteenth-century house and a letter with clues to a mystery that began in 1941.

These books were out of order and unfortunately have different narrator's. The narrator to this book has the same voice for all the characters, I had to back up a lot because I didn't know who was talking. The narrator can't hold a candle to Davina Porter. To bad she didn't read this one. I hope book 3 has some of the same characters, but from the description it doesn't. It has another narrator change, hope she is better. The best part was the ending, a real tear jerker.

Branded a witch, Morainn has never met a man who accepted her strange talent, much less one who could so easily inflame her passion. Deep in the stacks of Oxford's Bodleian Library, young scholar Diana Bishop unwittingly calls up a bewitched alchemical manuscript in the course of her research. Descended from an old and distinguished line of witches, Diana wants nothing to do with sorcery; so after a furtive glance and a few notes, she banishes the book to the stacks. But her discovery sets a fantastical underworld stirring, and a horde of daemons, witches, and vampires soon descends upon the library.

This book follows the twilight series to close to be a coincidence. Since I watched the TV version of twilight I didn't read the book, so I am enjoying this a lot. I especially like the witches and demons. There are no werewolves but the demons make up for it. My only complaint is the narrator's male voices, she needs to try harder on her pitch change when speaking male voices. I'm also a great fan of going back in time, which is why I enjoyed Diana Gabaldons Outlander series so much. To bad Davina Porter didn't read this one. I'm definitely getting the next one in this series.

I tried to stretch out listening to make the book last longer. I could not put it down. Every step of the way it had me. I was glued to it and could think of nothing else. Diana G and Davina P are a kick ass combination. I've read nothing that can compare to this series. All I can say is it better not be finished,
