A different narrator (not so monotone) and a better story line. It doesn't even start off giving you any background to the story, it just dives right in. I'm completely lost. I think I've only gotten an hour in but it has yet to grab my attention. Even though I only paid $4.95 for the book I still feel ripped off.
The story line was slow and boring. The narrator's voices are starting to get less and less different so as all the characters are beginning to sound alike. I'd also like to know when Milo began having that accent??!!
Gave it a better storyline. The CIA looking for a drone just wasn't thrilling.
I hope the next book is much better.
I'm so hooked on this series! I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes supernatural, fiction series.
Her different voices for each character are great. All her different accents are even all on point. I get a kick out of hearing some of them.
If you liked it from the beginning keep on reading because they just keep coming back with more good stuff. I like how there's just enough romance, and not too much blood and gore. I just love it.
I like the narrator and the author in her "Rachel Morgan: Hollows" books. However this book just wasn't for me. It was short, and not much content. There wasn't a lot of background given in the beginning, and the ending just like cut-off the story. I just didn't like it.
I'm now addicted to this series. It's one of those things you don't want to stop listening to. The different voices for the characters is great. I love Jynx. The hyper quick talk is funny. I can't wait to read the next one! If you like fiction, supernatural and suspense/mystery this is for you!
I am now addicted to this series! The narrator is great with the different characters, and not dull at all. I've noticed things I've read in other books lately are the same "myths" as in this book. I like being able to draw the line between backgrounds in fiction. If you like fiction, mysteries, and supernatural this IS for you.
Yes, if they like the series.
I was upset with one of the twists, so early in the series too. I just hope Patterson makes the outcome good in the next books. Not to big on the sound effects used, but other than that it was a good book. I like the reader, have listened to her on a few other books. Some people say she's monotone and doesn't change characters well, but in this book she did good. The story line was really good, with suspense. Like I said in the beginning, it has a few twists with one being very unexpected. All in all a good "read". Love the series.
I like the TV show very much. I thought I'd like to get in to the full length story, but the narrator's little girl voice was just too much for me. Yes I know the book is for teens, but come on. You could have done better than that!
If it was a different narrator I may have liked it. The storyline seemed good but the different voices the narrator used for each character were horrible. I just couldn't get past it!
Yes. The first time I started listening to it I hated the author's snobby sounding voice, and it just didn't catch me. Then after listening to people tell me to try again, I did. It actually ended up being good.
Anastasia, because she was what you would call an untypical woman in this day in age. Mostly you have money hungry women who wouldn't think twice about taking a man for his money. All this woman wanted to do was help this man learn how good he was and how much someone could actually love him. Yes she had her "immature" parts, but not all women are promiscuous and have sex early. There are virgins out there. There are also some that just don't see the need to get into all the hype of electronics, and such.
All of you who have bad mouthed the book...I just think that you didn't have an open mind about it. Also who ever said that this was just a book about an immature girl in an abusive relationship has no knowledge of what a real abusive relationship is! Yes the author didn't use so many of the "normal" terms for things. She is from London for goodness sakes! Then there is the fact that there was the inner goddess. I thought it lightened parts of the story, gave it some humor. The author stated on a show that she wrote this book for her. The fact that it got such great reviews is because some people saw it that way and ran with it. Just because some of you don't have the same like as others doesn't mean it was a bad book. To each is own!
