What made the experience of listening to World of Warcraft: Jaina Proudmoore: Tides of War the most enjoyable?

Compelling storyline, well written. Provides a lot more character depth to many of the major Warcraft characters.

What other book might you compare World of Warcraft: Jaina Proudmoore: Tides of War to and why?

The storyline is as good as her previous Warcraft books (she's written 5 other Warcraft titles- unfortunately this is the only one available from Audible!) I think she's the best of the writers for Warcraft books!

Did Justine Eyre do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

The narration was adequate, but could have been better.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

If you want war between the Horde and Alliance, you've got it!

    Any additional comments?

Please add more Christie Golden books to Audible, especially her Warcraft books!

Now, picking up from A Discovery of Witches' cliff-hanger ending, Shadow of Night plunges Diana Bishop and Matthew Clairmont into Elizabethan London, a world of spies, subterfuge, and a coterie of Matthew's old friends, the mysterious School of Night that includes Christopher Marlowe and Walter Raleigh. Here, Diana must locate a witch to tutor her in magic, Matthew is forced to confront a past he thought he had put to rest, and the mystery of Ashmole 782 deepens. Deborah Harkness has crafted a gripping journey through a world of alchemy, time travel, and magical discoveries.

Hallie says: "Even better than A Discovery of Witches"
"Gotta love a thriller with witches and vampires!"

What did you love best about Shadow of Night?

Interesting turns and twists to the story- definitely not predictable!

What did you like best about this story?

Interesting storyline- very unique. Witches, vampires, demons, time-travel- all in the form of a decent mystery thriller!

What about Jennifer Ikeda’s performance did you like?

Excellent narration, easy to listen to, great storyteller!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I found myself a little surprised at the lack of a feminist response in some of the situations (I was expecting them- as a man, I found some of the details very chauvinistic.) I found the subservience a little distasteful, even when it might have been period-appropriate.

    Any additional comments?

I thought some of the love scenes were a little drawn out (almost softcore porn). In some cases, I felt it took away from the action of the overall story. Other than that, I really liked this book! I found it even better than the first one! Well worth a listen!
