  • The Case for Democracy: The Power of Freedom to Overcome Tyranny and Terror

In this brilliantly analytical yet personal book, nondemocratic societies are put under a microscope to reveal the mechanics of tyranny that sustain them. In exposing the inner workings of a "fear society", the authors explain why democracy is not beyond any nation's reach, why it is essential for our security, and why there is much that can be done to promote it around the world.

David says: "The finest book I have read in many years!!"
    "incredible view of democracy"
    Overall

With incredible insight he points to what we take for granted; maybe we have underestimated the power of democracy, since we are unaccustomed to anything else?
The patriotic should read it to look past blind belief to why they believe in democracy. The skeptic should read it for the optimistic outlook, the possibilities.
    just incredible...

John-Mark Stensvaag says: "Splendid Novel, Splendid Reading"
    "incredible investment in listening"
    Overall

I've just finished listenning to this for the second time. Amazing insights and purpose. Some reviewers say the narration leaves something to be desired. I find his ennunciation refreshing, consider that this text covers several languages and many hours, a challenge for anyone's consistency. I conclude with Tolstoy that they (and I...) write these reviews not entirely of free will ;)
Far more fulfilling than many of the alternatives, survive the first 8 hours, and you won't want it to end.
