Again, nice that Eve is a bit softer--retains her edge but not constantly complaining and fighting about everything. Typical Eve Dallas story but as always, a good listen and good performance.
This book kept me engaged and the performance by the narrator was quite good. Overall, it was a good story line and just fun to listen to. I would recommend this book.
As I kept listening to this book, all I could think of, about 1/2 the way through, is this is sooo tedious a listen. I can't really explain it better than that but it dragged on way too long and the main character in the book, a psychiatrist, just wasn't a believable character. I would not recommend this book.
Susan Erickson did a wonderful performance as usual and overall story line was great, what I've come to expect from this series. However, this is a fictional murder series and I found it getting waaaay too graphic in the description of the torture and murder of the main victim. Hopefully, the following books have this scaled back a bit. Otherwise, enjoyed it as alway.s
I really enjoyed this book. The performance was really good and the story was engaging and kept me wondering what would happen next. I like a lot of Koontz's books but not all--I would rate at this one towards the top of his works. Very enjoyable listen.
I've never read or listened to any of David Baldacci's books so wasn't sure what to expect. It was a very engaging story line and quite an enjoyable listen. Both performers on the book (one male, one female) were great to listen to and did a good job as well. I'm glad I purchased this one--will definitely listen to again!
The usual engaging story line I've come to expect in this series, I'm happy to say. Grabs you from the beginning and keeps you in the story.
But--what in the world were they thinking with the voices--almost EVERYONE has a different voice in this book, not just Peabody! I've listened to later ones so I know they'll be back but very strange this deep into the series they would change it up this dramatically. Still an overall good listen, however.
It was nice to see Eve finally lighten up--her constant yelling and screaming and protesting gets old after awhile. This book was a nice mixture of the Dallas who still kicks ass but tones it down a bit. Pretty good story and an enjoyable listen. Great performance by Susan Ericksen as always with this series.
I have to agree with the majority of the other reviews--this draaaaaaaged. Charlie runs around telling everyone he meets about his "secret" mission, rather than actually going on his mission! Then, when he finally does, it's pretty much anticlimatic. Lots of talking, very little action. Hope the next book is better!
The book just struck me as a bit "odd" at first but overall, entertaining characters, well read and enjoyable & fun.
