"Great Listen---Love Charles Todd"
It is a good story with intrigue without crude language. Love a mystery and also enjoy historical novels that give a window in the past and how lives unfolded.
I liked all the scenes that walked through how the murder might have happened---when Rutledge is trying for figure out which child might be a murderer.
The end of course when it is all linked together
Yes
"Great Mystery--love the history"
I can only guess, as I did not read the print version---the audio version was great as the characters came alive through Rosalyn's reading.
I enjoy mysteries, but I especially enjoy historical fiction.
She is able to make even the male characters believable as well as doing a good job of accents.
Yes!
Love the fact that this writer does not see a need for fowl language or detailed sexual encounters. I have listened to all the Bess Crawfords mysteries and have moved on to Todd's other mystery series.
"A good historical story--W/ Christian Values"
It was a good story and I liked the historical insights--as well as the Christian values. It was inspiring to see what can made of life in difficult situations. It is not just some fluffy romance piece. I like her writing as she can relate harsh situations without being lude or crude.
The only thing I can compare it to is Ms Rivers other series Mark of the Lion, which I liked better because of the details about life during the Roman Empire.
Marta's husband--he is unbelievably steady in tough situations.
Definitely worth the credit!
"Excellent insight into Christian/Roman History"
Captivating, Historical, Refective
Marcus, not just because he is the center of this story line, but because of his frustrations with Christianity and finally submitting to Almighty God. Haddasah's faith is inspiring.
Marcus' submission to God.
Submission
I love Judeo Christian history and this was great--very accurate from what I have studied.
"Great Witty Humor!"
Yes, they were not just humorous---but CLEAN stories.
Mark Twain's story about the visitors to the old man's cabin--great story
Her characters were easy to distinguish and follow.
I don't know about a Character---but I would love to have had dinner with Mark Twain---he was intellegent and his stories were interesting.
