Harry Dresden, human wizard, gets better and better with each book, each one building on the last til the whole conglomeration is a soap opera with magic. Harry takes lick after lick and comes back swinging, snappy banter and snarks flying with fists and 'Forzare' blows of magic. James Marsters' narration is perfect, his unique vocalizations of each character are consistant with the personalities of each. His Toot-Toot is hilarious, and his John Marcone chilling. As his acting is superb, I would expect no less from this fantastic talent.
Please, I beg again, more!
The lyrical prose of Dickens rolls off Mr. Curry's tongue like honey, the eerie quality of intonation gives the tale a spooky quality quite in keeping with its origins. The tone invokes the smokey, foggy streets of Victorian London, and the chill of a miser's heart. A must-have for any Dickens -or- Tim Curry fan.
Katherine Kurtz gets better with each novel in this world. She has an excellent grasp of court politics and intrigue. I cannot praise the narrator enough, as well.
There are several more books by Ms Kurtz. I would particularly recommend the Adept series, as well as the rest of the Deryni works, were they on Audible! Please Audible, let's have more from this spectacular talent!
More politics and intrigue and Deryni magic! One might think the prejudices in this work mirror our world's conflict with race and religion, and at times it -is- a little heavy handed, but well worth the listen! The narrator is -excellent-. I highly recommend this work
Though obviously her first ever novel, Katherine Kurtz captures intrigue and politics brilliantly in this trilogy. The narrator captures the essence of characters one comes to love in this audio adaptation. I have but two words for this series.
Excellent listen! James Marsters once again nails Harry's personality dead on. The whodunit is ... wonderful. Jim Butcher delivers with this one! I highly recommend beginning at the beginning, reading or listening to the series in order, however this one could stand alone. Get snax and a beverage of choice, kick your feet up, and delve head-first into this one!
I was expecting an insightful history, instead I got a lecture from a particularly flat-voiced narrator. Perfect for putting me to sleep.
This is one of my favorite bits of history. Anne Boleyn accomplished much in her thousand days, and those who touched her life deserve better treatment than this.
