No one's tried to kill Harry Dresden for almost an entire year, and his life finally seems to be calming down. For once, the future looks fairly bright. But the past casts one hell of a long shadow.

Carrie says: "I want more of Harry!"
    "More Please!"
    Overall

There are more books in this series! Please, Audible, make more available!

Harry Dresden, human wizard, gets better and better with each book, each one building on the last til the whole conglomeration is a soap opera with magic. Harry takes lick after lick and comes back swinging, snappy banter and snarks flying with fists and 'Forzare' blows of magic. James Marsters' narration is perfect, his unique vocalizations of each character are consistant with the personalities of each. His Toot-Toot is hilarious, and his John Marcone chilling. As his acting is superb, I would expect no less from this fantastic talent.
    Please, I beg again, more!

A Signature Performance: Tim Curry rescues Charles Dickens from the jaws of Disney with his one-of-a-kind performance of the treasured classic. Our listeners loved this version so much that it inspired our whole line of Signature Classics.

Nanci says: "Superb story and reading!"
    "Excellent!"
    Overall

The lyrical prose of Dickens rolls off Mr. Curry's tongue like honey, the eerie quality of intonation gives the tale a spooky quality quite in keeping with its origins. The tone invokes the smokey, foggy streets of Victorian London, and the chill of a miser's heart. A must-have for any Dickens -or- Tim Curry fan.

Kelson Haldane is King of Gwynedd, the first liege of magical Deryni heritage in centuries. But the priesthood of the Eleven Kingdoms has no intention of ceding its power - even if it means inciting civil war.

    Karen says: "Good listen!"
    "Excellent Work!"
    Overall

Katherine Kurtz gets better with each novel in this world. She has an excellent grasp of court politics and intrigue. I cannot praise the narrator enough, as well.

There are several more books by Ms Kurtz. I would particularly recommend the Adept series, as well as the rest of the Deryni works, were they on Audible! Please Audible, let's have more from this spectacular talent!

The number of Deryni was small, for they had been hounded for generations and kept their identities secret. Those who managed to retain their arcane powers concealed their background - for bitter persecution once again swept the land of Gwynedd, inspired by a raving fanatic sworn to destroy all Deryni in a final bloodbath.

More politics and intrigue and Deryni magic! One might think the prejudices in this work mirror our world's conflict with race and religion, and at times it -is- a little heavy handed, but well worth the listen! The narrator is -excellent-. I highly recommend this work

In the kingdom of Gwynedd, the mysterious forces of magic and the superior power of the Church combine to challenge the rule of young Kelson. Now the fate of the Deryni -- a quasi-mortal race of sorcerers -- and, indeed, the fate of all the Eleven Kingdoms, rests on Kelson's ability to quash the rebellion by any means necessary...including the prescribed use of magic!

Though obviously her first ever novel, Katherine Kurtz captures intrigue and politics brilliantly in this trilogy. The narrator captures the essence of characters one comes to love in this audio adaptation. I have but two words for this series.

    MORE PLEASE!!!!!

The Warden Morgan has been accused of treason against the Wizards of the White Council - and there's only one, final punishment for that crime. He's on the run, wants his name cleared, and needs someone with a knack for backing the underdog. Someone like Harry Dresden....

Lisa says: "Worthy Addition To The Series"
"Holy Cow! He's done it again!"
    Overall

Excellent listen! James Marsters once again nails Harry's personality dead on. The whodunit is ... wonderful. Jim Butcher delivers with this one! I highly recommend beginning at the beginning, reading or listening to the series in order, however this one could stand alone. Get snax and a beverage of choice, kick your feet up, and delve head-first into this one!

  • Jane Boleyn: The Infamous Lady Rochford

Jane Rochford was the sister-in-law to Anne Boleyn and Lady of the Bedchamber to Catherine Howard, whom she followed to the scaffold in 1542. Hers is a life of extraordinary drama as a witness to and participant in the greatest events of Henry's reign. Her supposed part in both Anne Boleyn's and Catherine Howard's downfall has led to her being reviled through the centuries.

Jennifer says: "Shines new light on Jane"
    "Dry as Dust!"
    Overall

I was expecting an insightful history, instead I got a lecture from a particularly flat-voiced narrator. Perfect for putting me to sleep.

This is one of my favorite bits of history. Anne Boleyn accomplished much in her thousand days, and those who touched her life deserve better treatment than this.
