I am only supposed to allow myself only so much time per nite. I keep breaking my personal rules .I listened to the first half twice because I wanted it to last longer. I didnt expect to enjoy these books as much as I have. The narrator is hipnotic . She has a firm grip on the characters personalities and the voices are consistant and unique per character.I hope you will enjoy this book and the series as much as I have.I can as of late, walk away from the TV to go listen to my books.Michelle Sagaras stories are imaginative and enveloping. On top of that Khristines portrayals are very consistant and enjoyable. Good job team.Thank you .
As s science fiction and fantasy goes it is a little different idea of a story but similar in many ways to work already done. There are a few twists to keep your interests. The style of chaptering feels like it was borrowed from other authors I have read. It could have presented new characters and happenings in a little better way ,though the ideas of the characters is presented pretty well into the story line. The characters were well defined. Overall It was an enjoyable read. Im curious towards the rest of the series but other books are tempting me to hold for a while and come back to it. It was exciting at times and will make your imagination work to invision the happenings as the story unfolds. The narrator was ok but I think his deep voice detracted from the female charactors a tiny bit. Read it and you wont be wasting your money. My son was thrilled by it. Hes 27,very intelligent and active physically. and he loves super heroes still. So heroes against oppression is right up his alley. He loved it. Hope I helped your decision.
It was a little different as in that it seemed like another section in the life story more than its own adventure. It was its own adventure though . Maybe I was hoping for more. The idea was good. . I still gave it a 5 star rating though. I was not unsatisfied . Its been too long between books for me and I got into some other worlds. Luke Daniels still tells it great.Kevin still planned it well. Read it . Tell em Ronnie sent you.
It just doesnt seem to have the same old
pern in it.Todd seems to be a good enough writer but there seems to be a definite change in the sexuality of these books. A vaguely little mention of maybe two fellows hooking up in Annes pern has turned into a 60s commune like attitudein these continueing series. There is more on the pages than Annes good ole Pern. I just read the reviews of the last two books in this series and there seems to be a continuance of this type of change in the books." Im sorry Anne but my interest in your beloved Pern is waning. Everywhere I look nowadays there is this stentch of political agendas and now it has arrived at Pern . Todd I too miss your mother.
The book is as good as I remember it. Its been many years and a few movies since my first memories of it. The narrators voice was good for this kind of story. it actually got kinda creepy hearing his version of Gollum.I believe it was time and money well spent. Enjoy!
This book was suggested by a trusted friend and local school teacher. Because I respect him I took the chance to walk away from the norm and I am not sorry, I found the book informative. I learned alot about another part of world war 2. I have an interest in that era. But I had never read much about the bombers and the devoted fliers that created such an important part of the war effort and outcome. I also realized I knew little of George Mcgovern and his involvement in this part of the war. I have a knew respect for him and his wife. It is very well written and seemed to be planned and delivered in a good way. Read it.
Starting a little different, this story allows you many opportunities to discover where this people came from and how they came to be the dragonriders. It was a fun read and a little refreshing at this point of the series. As always if you let your imagination try to picture happenings in your minds eye,you will get a real suprise. I actually got involved to the point of feeling bad during sorrowful times and cheering during the successes. Anne did it again. Read it.
Didnt need the foul language to be funny. It was a cool story from another point of veiw. I did enjoy the style.
I actually enjoyed the first 3 better. The book was good but a few things were over done. Oberon the dog is a favorite part of these books. In this one he is a little too intelligent. But he was still an integral part of the story. The story brings on another source of magic which teaches the druid something he probably already should have known being 2100 years old..I felt it was a rushed job.... deadlines I guess . But it was full of twists and it did leave me wanting more. perhaps a touch too much more. But I dont regret it. It was entertaining and ingenuitive. read it .
Ive read the trilogy years ago(like 30). I found that it still kept my attention and was still exciting. I was drawn in. Now Im contemplating the rest of her books. I stopped reading them years ago for reasons I cant remember. I again remember now why Annes books became so desired. Read them and you will understand.
Just like the first book ,this story has you on the edge of your seat and explodes as you would want it to at the end. Although your wish is split in 2. The writer eludes to so many things that are either hidden in the story from the first book or earlier in this book.It really starts playing out in a way that makes you a fan. The narrator draws you in even more in this book than the first. She knows the characters and introduces you in the same way they are introduced to Catniss. Kids book smids book. Im an adult and I enjoyed everyminute of it. Now lets check out the third one.
