Miss Linnet Berry Thrynne is a Beauty... Naturally, she's betrothed to a Beast. Piers Yelverton, Earl of Marchant, lives in a castle in Wales where, it is rumored, his bad temper flays everyone he crosses. And rumor also has it that a wound has left the earl immune to the charms of any woman. Linnet is not just any woman. She is more than merely lovely: her wit and charm brought a prince to his knees. She estimates the earl will fall madly in love - in just two weeks. She is more than merely lovely: her wit and charm brought a prince to his knees.

What made the experience of listening to Scandal in Spring the most enjoyable?

Although the narrator does do similar voice for the characters in the series for the men (and yes I did listen to them all), the book still had a good plot and the characters endear themselves to you.

    Any additional comments?

Lisa Kleypas is a good author and she is CONSISTENT! I can not say how important that is! With all the formulaic romance novels you need to understand good characters and their interactions. Lisa Kleypas does this.

Besieged by rebels, she is whisked from her horse by a Highland warrior who promises her safety. But when he kisses her she fears she's more in danger of losing herself.

What would have made The Highlander's Reward better?

For the store to actually have gone somewhere.

Would you ever listen to anything by Eliza Knight again?

    No

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

It seemed like the book had its highs and lows. It was kind of get interesting then the narrator would speak in her "Scottish" male voice and it would kill it. Not a horrible book but I could not finish it.

    Any additional comments?

This book seemed like it would be a cute listen, you know the normal romance stuff. But the book really does not go anywhere and the logic behind the characters choices is just ridiculous. I tried several times to listen to this book but stopped after about 2 hrs.

For inside is Rafael, the prince of the kingdom, renowned for his hot-blooded pursuits of women and other decadent pleasures. The failed raid leaves the equally notorious Masked Rider wounded and facing a hangman's noose.

Would you try another book from Gaelen Foley and/or Nell Geisslinger?

    No

What didn’t you like about Nell Geisslinger’s performance?

    Passable

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

I know what to expect when listening/reading romance novels, but this book was absolutely HORRIBLE. The "hero" was a spoiled brat and the "heroine" was suppose to be a noble and caring character but she just came off as an airhead. Tried to listen to it for 1 hour and could not do it...

    Any additional comments?

So sad I wasted money on this book.

Acclaimed author Susanna Kearsley's previous works have won the RT Book Reviews Reviewers Choice Award, and finaled for both the UK Romantic Novel of the Year and the RITA awards.

Eva Ward is a modern woman thrown back three centuries to 1715 - only to find that might be exactly where she belongs. There, she finds true love with Daniel Butler, but the discord surrounding Hanoverian King George plunges the lovers into a world of intrigue, treason, and romance.

What could Susanna Kearsley have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

This book was slow from the beginning and the story line did not go anywhere.

Did Nicola Barber do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

I should have paid better attention to the other reviewers when they said the narrator reads internal thought with a British accent and speaks with and American/Canadian accent.

    Any additional comments?

Don't waste your money on this one!
