On November 10, 2008, Dr. Eben Alexander was driven into coma by a disease so lethal that only 1 in 10,000,000 survive. Seven days later, he awakened with memories of a fantastic odyssey deep into another realm that were more real than this earthly one - memories that included meeting a deceased birth sister he had never known existed. Dr. Alexander deployed all his knowledge as a scientist to find out whether his mind could have played a trick on him. In its shutdown state, there was no way it could have.

Researcher and thought leader Dr. Brené Brown offers a powerful new vision that encourages us to dare greatly: to embrace vulnerability and imperfection, to live wholeheartedly, and to courageously engage in our lives. In Daring Greatly, Dr. Brown challenges everything we think we know about vulnerability. Based on 12 years of research, her book argues that vulnerability is not weakness but rather our clearest path to courage, engagement, and meaningful connection.

The scene in which the "goose girl" teaches the "prince's guard" to ride a horse is fabulous!

What did you love best about Mockingjay?

I loved the continued transformation of the Mockingjay: heart-breaking, yet inspiring.

What did you like best about this story?

I think The Mockingjay,as the final book in the series, makes a logical and profound shift from the prior two books. Without revealing too much, I'll just say that it's inspiring to see the positive influence people can have when they stand for humanity and the freedom of others...even at great cost to themselves. The entire series is very thought provoking and relevant to current world conditions. I highly recommend the series.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book had a sobering influence on my typical everyday complacency.

Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning? In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by 12 outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.
