"It has it all."
Take a good Techno Sci-Fi thriller, wrap it in a Detective/Police story, sprinkle with a lot of well developed characters and some very subtle humor and there you have it. I wish I could give it 6 stars. I just downloaded the sequel and am anxious to get started.
"Dumb As A Pigeon"
Another freebie from Audible. The short story is 14 minutes long and made absolutely no sense to me. The rest is an advertisement for his unreleased next book which did not inspire me to pre-order it. However it is only 14 minutes and it is free; how can you go wrong with a listen? See for yourself.

"Mitch Rapp Saves the World Again!"
Eureka! I have finally finished all 13 books of the Mitch Rapp series and I loved them all. I actually liked the series better than I did Jack Reacher. Okay, these books are not literary masterpieces but are quite entertaining. In this, the most recent book, Mitch and his team managed to save the world again. If you are just looking for some bubblegum for the mind, I highly recommend this series.

"Who Cares?"
What can I say? I found this book to be rather inane and pointless. It was a struggle to get to the end of it. The plot and the characters just did not grab me. It might be funny to those studying for their bar exam but not for me. Save your credit and pass on this one.

"Very Bias Interpretation of the CIA"
I was very disappointed with this book. The author just cherry-picks the data which supports his opinion and ignores the rest. I cannot recommend it as something worth reading.

"A Classic Holiday Story"
This is a classic holiday tale suitable for all members of the family and maybe even a bedtime story. Just follow the goose and enjoy the mystery. Thank you to Audible for providing it this holiday season and Happy Holidays to the Audible family.

"What Happened in Your Life?"
A signifcant effort by StoryCorp to collect the lives of ordinary people. Something to reflect on during our USA Thanksgiving holiday. A big thanks to Dave Isay and to Audible for offering these segment for free.

"Tumbling Dice"
I rolled the dice and I was pleasantly surprised by this book. After attempting to read “Life” purportedly written by Keith Richards, I had given up on Stones books. “Life”, in my opinion, was more-or-less the ravings of a person hoping to rewrite history. Philip Norman presents Mick Jagger in a documentary style; neither extoling nor degrading this icon of music history. The reader was mediocre at best. If you like those big lips and scrawny body, you will like this book.

"A Scary Tale"
At only 12 minutes it goes by in a heartbeat but it is a very nice tale very apropos for Halloween. With the added attractions of being free with a donation to charity, how could you go wrong?

"Entertaining Little Freebie"
Cute and entertaining. Like Seinfield, it all about nothing. I look forward to the release of his next book.
"John Ceepak: The Polar Opposite of Jack Reacher?"
*I’ve been catching up on some rather tardy reviews on my part.*
This is a generic review of the 7-book (so far) series of police officer John Ceepak as told through the eyes of his side-kick Danny Boyle. From the mythical Jersey Shore town of Sea Haven, each book (this is book one) is a crime occurring in this seedy little town that owes its existence to tourism, the amusement park and the corruption of the Chamber of Commerce.
A little bit about John Ceepak. He follows the West Point Code and does not lie, cheat, steal or tolerate those who do. No! I mean he NEVER does … not EVER. Even when it is in his best interest; even when it would solve the crime he will not do it. Also, Ceepak sees much of life through the lyrics of his hero Bruce Springsteen. As the series progresses he falls in love, marries and adopts her son … and a dog. Tongue-in-cheek from the beginning, there is no one like John Ceepak.
Throughout the series we watch Danny Boyle develop as a cop and a person. In book one he is a part-time summer cop that mostly just wants to get laid. As John Ceepak becomes his mentor, he becomes a good cop in his own right. As listeners, we are happy that Danny’s standards are not always as strict as John’s. Danny is the tongue-in-cheek straight man for the series.
While I admit these books are not literary masterpieces, I gave each of them 5 stars in all three categories. They do some of the things I like in a book; they kept me interested, kept me laughing and allowed me to totally suspend reality as I listened to the plot. From the pen of Chris Grabenstein, please meet John Ceepak and Danny Boyle.
