    Story

The last book in a series is always bittersweet. You want to know the end so you don't have to keep waiting for the next book but you also want your book friends to keep visiting you! Sigh, I loved this whole series. So many wonderful and engaging characters. I can only hope that the Della spin-off series happens and we get updates on the Shadow Falls gang.

Kylie is working on discovering what it means to be a Chameleon with her own kind. They are so cut off from the outside and antiquated. She feels just as lost as she did before going to the camp. Things move along quickly and the threat of Mario pops up again.

Of, course she has another ghost this book demanding help and being super vague. As usual the big reveal is unexpected. This ghost was definitely more of a presence than some of the past spirits. I was happy with the whole resolution there. It seemed very fitting.

Once again most of the story is spent on the great Derrick or Lucas debate. At teh begininhg of the book I thought I knew who I wanted her to choose. But some things were made very clear like who really cheated and who didn't. In the end, I was happy with how things played out. Although, I thought she could have come to some of her decisions way sooner. In the end things made sense and you knew the pairing was right. Fated!

Loved all the side stories going on this book! Holiday and Burnett ( cutest couple ever!!), Della and Steve(oh, I can not wait for this book), Miranda and Perry(sickeningly sappy cute), and several other surprise couples. Really great seeing everybody develop and get their happy-ish ending!

Really well written and perfectly paced. I was pleasantly surprised that with all the drama going on around her Kylie did not go all angsty teen. She stayed the spunky gal I have loved since the first book! I felt there were still a few vague spots in the story at the end but maybe they will pop up in the spin-off series. Most notably things that make Kylie extra special even in her own kind.

Sure some events were way predictable, but if you are clued into foreshadowing it is easy to see the writing on the wall. Not everything was fomula, there were plenty of side twists and turns to keep things fresh and a reader on her toes!

Overall, it was a wonderful reading experience. I laughed. I cried, I never wanted it to end! This is one of those awesome series that I will talk about with every teen I know!

Lady Emily Clearbrook secretly loved the Earl of Stonebridge, but one day, he left her without a word. Now, years later, the man mysteriously reappears and battles Emily's four brawny brothers to woo her again. But the bigger battle seems to be with Emily! This sweet historical romance series, about a duke's family, includes delightful, heartwarming love stories that bring the Regency period to life.

    Story

I really wanted to love this book, it just did not connect for me. There was something about the dialogue that felt flat. It had witty moments but they just did not fell light.

Mostly I was annoyed with Emily, I know this is a historical but she was not to my liking. I wanted more fire and spunk from her. I was also not pleased with the hero, Jared married another woman and only came sniffing around again after she died. Nope not something I am generally a fan.

The story is nicely done, it just feels dry and did not give me warm fuzzies. I am not really sure what to expect in the brother's books either. They were very overbearing and really ticked me off.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Pearl Hewitt, who does a great job. She has a really lovely voice that makes the read more enjoyable. Her pace is swift and really moves along keeping the pace steady. Her voices were fabulous and really consistent. I will definitely look for more of her work.

I already have the second book in the series, so I will give it a listen, but I am not sure if it is more like this. I really could have used more intrigue and less of the romance. Perhaps it was just my mood.

    Story

There is just something about this series that draws me in and keeps my attention. This book has a bit of a slow start, I was a touch confused about where we were in the timeline. Thankfully things came together when Cassie picks up the POV narrative.

I really liked the look into Evan's mind, but it probably would have worked better somewhere other than the very beginning of the book. There is much intrigue revealed in the start of the book, I ended up going back and reading it a second time when I finished. There was much that made sense with the re-reading.

The plot has a lot going on, almost too much at times. There are many intrigues to keep up with and plenty of players to keep track of. I was happily surprised to see a few unexpected twists. Definitely eager to read the final book in the series when it releases!

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Melissa Reizian Frank, who has been with the series from the start. She really has a great feel for Cassie, love the sass and angst she can instill into the read. Terrific pace that moves the book along and helps the story flow. I will have to look for more of her reads after the series is finished.

The story was really great, it just had a very slow start. I know that is weird to say when the book begins with a bit of action. It just felt slow motion because I was trying to catch up with what was going on in the story line. Things picked up and really moved later on, it was just a climb to get there.

I adore this series, a witchy cozy mystery. It is a very enchanting with plenty of great charters to charm and entertain.

I love Sailor and Lily together, I wish we could get more of their dynamic. Again great supporting characters. The mystery this time was a touch darker. I was on the verge of solving it, Ms Blackwell throws curve balls into the mix.

I expect things will soon come to a head with Aiden. Definitely curious about all the loose threads at the end of this one. The major plot is resolved but there are plenty of things to carry on into a few more books.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Xe Sands, who is always great! She has a terrific pace that keeps the story moving along nicely. Great voices that stay consistent throughout the book and the series. She has a wonderful way of adding energy to the read and bringing actions scenes to life. One of my favorite narrators.

I love this series and am more than ready to see what happens next for everybody.

A young and ambitious writer named Jerome David Salinger set his goals very high very early in his career. He almost desperately wished to publish his early stories in The New Yorker magazine, the pinnacle, he felt, of America’s literary world. But such was not to be for several long years and the length of one long world war. But other magazines were quick to recognize a new talent, a fresh voice at a time when the world verged on madness....

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

It was very well written but the scenes lacked a point. The stories felt like they were pulled from a bigger book. There really was no real detail of where the story was going or even why the reader should care.

Would you recommend Three Early Stories to your friends? Why or why not?

It you are a fan of Salinger's prose, then you will love it, I was not a huge fan so it did not work as well for me. The stories flow nicely, they just never go anywhere.

What about Mike Dennis’s performance did you like?

He has a awesome voice that really kept me engaged, even after I was bored with the story. Such a yummy deep timber that was a joy to listen to throughout. He had clear voices that stayed consistent in each story. I would love to hear more of his reads, especially on smexy books!

I would definitely recommend this book to friends who enjoy a bit of mystery in their romance.

A woman wakes up in a motel on the outskirts of a remote Oregon city with no memory of who she is, a gun at her bedside, and a state trooper uniform. What made the experience of listening to Trooper #4 the most enjoyable?

I did not know what to expect coming into this book. It was a surprisingly interesting listen. The story starts out slow but really picks up and keeps you on edge as it progresses.

What other book might you compare Trooper #4 to and why?

It is more like the TV show The Walking Dead, very Dystopian and zombie heavy. There are a lot of great twists and turns that easily keep a reader enthralled.

What about Barbara Benjamin-Creel’s performance did you like?

Awesome read, I loved her pace and tone. She has a terrific rasp to her voice that helps bring the main character to life. Her energy throughout the read makes the book move at a really steady read. I will definitely be looking for more of her reads.

Where does Foreverland Is Dead rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I really enjoyed it, loads of detail and a really stunning twist. This book has true depth, after the first book I did not expect it to be quite so dark.

Who was your favorite character and why?

It is difficult to say because all the girls had very interesting elements. I was rooting for all of them.

What about Linda Velwest’s performance did you like?

She has a nice solid read throughout the book. I thought all of her voices were distinct and fit the characters. With so m many female voices to keep track of she does a great job of keeping them separate.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The ending blew my mind! This is something I have come to expect from this author. He has real skill in crafting worlds that bring a story to a new level.

Definitely! I am a big fan of Mr Bertauski's work. He always crafts a creative tale with brilliant twists and turns the reader does not expect.

What did you like best about this story?

I love the world building, Foreverland is fleshed out beautifully. There is real skill in making a story pop while surprising and delighting the reader.

What about Paul Licameli’s performance did you like?

I love his flow and the action he was able to create with his voice. He really connected with the story and added energy with his read. His voices were consistent and distinct. I will definitely look for more of his reads, he gives happy ears!

If you could sum up The Mafia Funeral and Other Short Stories in three words, what would they be?

    Delicious creative treats

What did you like best about this story?

I loved Saying Goodbye to Miss Molly, it was such a lovely story that had me getting emotional. Sometimes a good cry is cathartic.

What aspect of Denise van Venrooy’s performance would you have changed?

She has a nice solid read but it lacked variety. I would have loved it is each story felt different in the narration. There was a lot of opportunity to deliver a varied performance. She has a great pace that flows nicely but it lacked that extra bit that brings the stories to a new level.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It could have been in one sitting but I did it on my commute, which really worked out. Each story fit nicely into my drive time and entertained from beginning to end.

    Any additional comments?

I would love to see more of this author, if these short stories are any indication she has some real skill as a story teller.

I was not in love with the first book, but I was happy to have stayed with the series. Enhanced the world and fleshed out the characters better than the first book. This was easier to like because the story flowed better. It has a very old fantasy feel while still being set in the present.
