Shorten it by decreasing the character build up.
Ended with a bigger bang. The whole story kept building and building to an anticipated crescendo, but then it just ended.

Not specifically a follow-up. However if the author can deliver a better conclusion I would try another by her.

Probably the one that starts on page one and ends on the last page.

I suffer very mildly from PTSD...as many service members do. If my PTSD was any worse, I don't know if I could have handled this book.
