"Solidly Entertaining"
The book is engaging. The narrator is the best I have ever heard. It is a great summer read. High literature, no. A guilty pleasure, yes. I like the Outlander books but my affection for the series is largely due to Ms. Porter's amazing narration.
"Heartwarming"
It is so nice to hear somebody write about a kind family. She does not air dirty laundry. It is a nostalgic look at a life spent in two very different cultures. She does not make one country seem perfect and the other flawed but she seems proud of her Persian heritage and her American citizenship. The thing about this book that is so great because it reminds us that in America we are all descended from immigrants. The blending of cultures is what makes this country great. It is easy to forget that and this book is a treasure.
"ok"
I think that this book was average. I was a little creeped out by so many cousins "hooking up." If it wasn't for that I would give it a good. Thankfully, these scenes are not graphic and so I could just think "ick" and go on. The book had funny parts. Nice Joss Whedon and Jim Butcher references. I would read another title by this author. The narrator is also just ok. Her voices were not distinct. So, I would give it a mediocre rating all the way around. But, it was fairly light and worth the credit.
"Do You Love to Laugh?"
This book is hilarious. Do not take it serious. It is Steampunk meets PG Wodehouse and Urban Fantasy crossed with Jane Austen. I love her and even my 60 year old mom who hates Vampires loves all the books start with Soulless and then continue to Changeless then Blameless and now Heartless. Emily Gray is one of the best narrators out there. The only downside to this novel is that I have to wait until March to find out what happens next.
"Pratchett and Vimes Deliver Again"
I love Terry Pratchett so I am biased. Sam Vimes is one of my favorites. Although, I can find no fault with any Vimes series except that I also love Carrot and wish he had a larger part. If you are thinking about this one then you have read other Discworld and Vimes novels so you know what to expect. This does not disappoint. I enjoyed I shall Wear Midnight and Unseen Academicals but this one was even better. Although he has Alzheimers, his wittiness and ablitiy to engage the reader are not deminished. Steven Briggs is awesome as always. Really, I have nothing bad to say about it. If you have not read or listened to all of the Vimes books please do before downloading this book. They are all on Audible. And Pratchett is now on Twttier and Facebook and is hinting at a new Moist Von Lipwig book. Well worth money or a credit just get it! :)
"Classic Pratchett"
Terry Pratchett is my favorite writer. I love this story; Granny Weatherwax is as always herself. I am not a big Agnes fan, but Nanny Ogg, Magrat and Granny Weatherwax are all wonderful. I like Stephen Briggs better than Nigel Planer. If you are a die hard Pratchett fan you will love it. If you are new to TP then maybe try Going Postal or Wee Free Men. I gave it four stars because I wish Briggs was narrating but it is credit worthy and Planer is an excellent narrator I just prefer Briggs.
"Interesting"
This is an interesting novel. I have devoured the series yet it is really only mediocre. It is engaging and Davina Porter is the best narrator I have ever heard and I have about sixty audible novels.
"Wonderful!"
Terry Pratchett's dynamic Moist Von Lipwig is back and still fabulous. Briggs is dead on accurate. He is such a good narrator I have all the books he reads.
"Amazing"
The story is facinating. It is original, darker than some of Gaiman's other work. I thought the reader was average. His voice was kind of monotone and he did not accurately portray the multinational cast. The story is just so great.
"Fabulous"
I believe the this is the best of the Watch books. Stephen Briggs delivers yet another flawless reading of these beloved characters. The story is great the narration is great, it is the perfect addition to anyone's library.
"Why is there music"
This book is great and the voices are great. However, in contrast to all the other Terry Pratchett books there is this bad eightys style magic music which is distracting. Great book cut out the music.
One has to wonder why in the world you would want would to have bad windchime music in the middle of a fabulous book.
