I could not finish. The magnitude of the errors about the German V1 and V2 programs, Which the author conflates and confuses, made it un "readable".
Done some fact checking and historical research about the V weapons.
All the scenes suggesting that the Brits were terrified of the V weapons.
If it had not been published.
Probably not, without verifying that he's gone back to writing thrillers.
None that I can think of. I quit 10% of the way in and will not listen to any more.
Everything after the Somalia sequence.
The gene for being able to appreciate this book is on the X chromosome and you need two copies. It's a romance, "chick lit," and I don't qualify. The name of the purported author, "Rhys Bowen" (a man's name) is a pseudonym for Janet Quin-Harkin. If I had known that I would have researched it more carefully before I bought it (and I wouldn't have.)
"Hidden Order" by Brad Thor.
Nothing. Beyond repair.
Vince Flynn's The Last Man.
They were mostly ridiculous.
All of them, especially the ones with erroneous military references. Puller is a Chief Warrant Officer, which is a commissioned rank, not enlisted, as his girlfriend General calls him. His father, a retired Lt. General, calls him XO, but Generals do not have Executive Officers, they have Chiefs of Staff. Etc, Etc, Etc.
I have jumped at buying Baldacci's books in the past. I will read the substance of the reviews in the future.
The storyline is over the top. To specify why would be something of a spoiler.
Found a credible reason for the boys' disappearances.
The last one, because it was over.
Not really. Period atmosphere, maybe.
