A leading science writer examines how the brain's capacity reaches its peak in middle ageFor many years, scientists thought that the human brain simply decayed over time and its dying cells led to memory slips, fuzzy logic, negative thinking, and even depression.

Virginia A says: "Recommended for all Ages"
"An uplifting must read, or listen to book."
    Overall

Besides enjoying the book, and the authors occasional humorous anecdotes, I found it positive and uplifting. After, experiencing some of the negatives she mentions (such as why did I come into this room?)it was good to be reminded of the positive things the more mature brain has to offer.
In addition, I have laced up my sneakers again and have started guitar lessons at age 52.Enjoy.

Very good supplement to your studies of the italian language. I spend quite a bit of time in my car for work related travel. Most of my language study is done with audio. I enjoyed this very much and hope he expands this series.

  • The Liar in Your Life: The Way to Truthful Relationships

In The Liar in Your Life, psychology professor Robert Feldman, one of the world's leading authorities on deception, draws on his immense body of knowledge to give fresh insights into how and why we lie, how our culture has become increasingly tolerant of deception, the cost it exacts on us, and what to do about it. His work is at once surprising and sobering, full of corrections for common myths and explanations of pervasive oversimplifications.

A very good book that will help you understand the people in your life, both personal and professional. My issue is, it would be much more believable if the authors extreme dislike for President Bush wasn't used over and over again as an example. It belittled the books points, which are very good ones.

In Silicon Valley slang, a "bozo explosion" is what causes a lean, mean, fighting machine of a company to slide into mediocrity. As Guy Kawasaki puts it, "If the two most popular words in your company are partner and strategic, and partner has become a verb, and strategic is used to describe decisions and activities that don't make sense"...then it's time for a reality check.

"Great book, more info than I imagined"
    Overall

This is a great book on a broader range of topics than I imagined. He covers, in at least some detail, a wide range of topics all with an editorial flair and sense of humor. Highly recommend.
