Would you listen to Carnal Innocence again? Why?

It was 17 hours long, so I would need a good reason to listen to it again, however if that reason (like a long plane ride with zero internet access so that I could just buy another book) ever happened I totally would listen to this story again! The voice actor and the story were soooo good and well woven that it was a pleasure to listen to!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Tucker Longstreet! He is definitely more then meets the eye.

Which character – as performed by Tom Stechschulte – was your favorite?

Tom Stechschulte did a great job with all the characters!

If you could rename Carnal Innocence, what would you call it?

    Sweetwater

    Any additional comments?

I highly reccommend this story to anyone who likes mystery or romance or both. Two thumbs up.

  • Where'd You Go, Bernadette: A Novel

    Story
    (2034)

Bernadette Fox is notorious. To her Microsoft-guru husband, she's a fearlessly opinionated partner; to fellow private-school mothers in Seattle, she's a disgrace; to design mavens, she's a revolutionary architect, and to 15-year-old Bee, she is a best friend and, simply, Mom.

Then Bernadette disappears. It began when Bee aced her report card and claimed her promised reward: a family trip to Antarctica. But Bernadette's intensifying allergy to Seattle - and people in general - has made her so agoraphobic that a virtual assistant in India now runs her most basic errands.

    Story
What made the experience of listening to Where'd You Go, Bernadette the most enjoyable?

The structure of the novel was very entertaining. It was linear, but not your typical narration. Kathleen Wilhoite really mastered the individual voices of the characters.

What did you like best about this story?

It was hilarious and stressful at the same time. I got great insight into the main characters from their own correspondences. I enjoyed getting different perspectives on the same events.

Which character – as performed by Kathleen Wilhoite – was your favorite?

Bernadette and Bee were my FAVES! Audrey was a runner up.

Who was the most memorable character of Where'd You Go, Bernadette and why?

Bernadette, because this was her story told by everyone experiencing it.

    Any additional comments?

Definitely lived up to the hype.

Eve Dallas is a New York police lieutenant hunting for a ruthless killer. In over 10 years on the force, she's seen it all - and knows that her survival depends on her instincts. And she's going against every warning telling her not to get involved with Roarke, an Irish billionaire - and suspect in Eve's murder investigation. But passion and seduction have rules of their own, and it's up to Eve to take a chance in the arms of a man she knows nothing about - except the addictive hunger of needing his touch.

Would you consider the audio edition of Naked in Death to be better than the print version?

I haven't read the print version, but Susan Erickson does such a great job with the narration that it felt like I was reading the print edition.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the way the love story is easily mixed with the mystery. Neither over shadows the other.

Which character – as performed by Susan Ericksen – was your favorite?

Roarke. She does a great job with an irish accent.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes! Unfortunately life did not allow that. I want to buy the whole series based on this one book. Since it was written in 1995, I have a lot of books to catch up on.
