Everyone should know this journey. A little bit textual at times, as non-fiction often can be. However the story is so interesting you don't mind. Put this on your list of stories from the past that you need to know
Text like in delivery, but informative with regard to the Catholic religion and it's stances on the subject both past and present. Not a read for pleasure, but rather a read for knowledge.
Well done, keeping you in the "other world" till the very end. Made me go on line to research the subject further. so "kudos" for that.
Good, not a "Pillars" and not a "World", but an epic can't be written every time. I'm anxious to read the sequels to hopefully change my mind. This book felt "rushed" making me wonder if there was a deadline looming.
Certainly not his best, Koontz simply provides an entertaining and spooky break from any "heavy reading". A Girl Scout campfire could have produced the same.
Sophisticated and often poetic prose season this well developed story line. The narration takes a short time to get use to, but once you do, it complements the book. The author has obviously well researched and delivered this time in American history with a sensitive pen. Worth reading
