I hated to stop listening. This is the best Nora Roberts in a long time. The performance was also strong. I hope for more like this.
Did not take me out of the story. That is the best thing I can say about any performance for an audiobook.
An older series, but enjoyable. I wish the other two books had been made into audiobook format also and the entire series offered at once. This is the 3rd and last one.
Be aware this is a reprint.
I am enjoying the Rainshadow series. Some of the offerings have been a bit subpar, but this one was good. A bit more attention to individualizing the books could be considered. I am getting the feeling of "lick and promise" to meet publishing deadlines.
Perhaps a writing vacation could be considered even though I look forward to the books. They are a good diversion from reality. I want to keep anticipating them and not be disappointed when they appear.
I enjoyed the book, but some editing was needed. It tended to drag in the middle as if the author was trying to add length. A tighter and faster paced story would have improved the book.
Each book is around 15-16 hours which sounds long. It's not. The time passes quickly and then it is over which is disappointing. Anderson could have kept going and I would have kept listening.
When a series reaches this point, they usually drag. Not much new happens and characters get confusing. This series stays interesting with surprises when you thought there could not have been any more.
So many enemies have been introduced though, it is tough to see how our intrepid good guys/women led by CPT Reddy are going to prevail.
Keep writing Mr. Anderson. We are waiting for the next installment.
