    I felt that the author got to caught up in showing off her knowledge.

    The narrator was phenomenal- all characters were great


    If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Drowning Girl?

    I understand the style and what the author wanted to achieve, but she just took too long to tell a story, as I said there were Points where it wasn't about the story, but about the author saying look how superior I am over you.


    Any additional comments?

    This is a literary book, it is slow - as most literary books are. She does a gOod job within the style; but needs to be careful that her pretentiousness doesn't show through. If you like literary go for it. If you are a psychiatrist or psych nurse - you will find more honesty in the E.R.

    Why we think it’s a great listen: If you’ve ever loved a dog - or even patted a dog - this book, told from the perspective of man’s best friend, will tug at your heartstrings...and won’t let go until long after Welch performs the last word. Enzo knows he is different from other dogs: a philosopher with a nearly human soul (and an obsession with opposable thumbs), he has educated himself by watching television extensively and by listening very closely to the words of his master.

    The narration done in the dog's voice.

    Seeing your life through your animal's eyes and heart and how that animal loves you through all your faults.


    What about Christopher Evan Welch’s performance did you like?

    He captured the heart of the dog.

    Perfect title.

    I was not sure I would like it, since I am not into race cars; but I did nothing the whole day and listened to it straight through.

    This shows a different side to Achilles and patrocolous that is so well written.

    I would not: the title is perfect.
