Another phenomenal suspense book from Brett Battles. Jonathan Quinn and his team face off against another foe...this one a familiar character from The Cleaner. Taut plot, lightning pace, edge of your seat suspense. Enjoy!
Great narrator but an extremely boring story. Very disappointing; I've been a fan of his other books but this one was painfully slow and dull.
I generally stay away from supernatural books; not my thing. However, this one piqued my interest and I decided to give it a try. It's a great book!!!! Fantastic story development, it moves at a good clip and the narrator is amazing. I'll definitely look for more books narrated by Robert Petkoff; he managed to make the characters distinct without any of them sounding like caricatures. I absolutely loved this book!!
I LOVED this book!!! LOVED it! The premise isn't something that would normally appeal to me but I bought it based on the reviews. I disagree with a previous reviewer regarding Scott Brick; I think he did a fantastic job as narrator and because he didn't use silly character voices, there were no distractions from the story. It was brilliantly written, it was fast-paced and kept my attention the entire time. Definitely makes you want to learn more about the scientific theories that are the basis of the plot.
I wish I had read the reviews before I purchased. I agree with a previous reviewer...the narrator sounds like a grandmother. And she makes many of the characters sound like they have downs syndrome. Serious bummer because I absolutely adored the first 3 Spellman novels. I think the writing was still good but the narration ruined it for me. Bring back Ari Graynor and re-record this mess so we can enjoy!!!
Extremely entertaining! Kooky characters, crazy family relationships and a mystery or two. The narrator's dead-pan delivery was perfectly suited to the tongue-in-cheek tone of the book. I ended up listening to the first 3 Spellman books in a row...couldn't get enough! If you like the Stephanie Plum novels, you're definitely going to love the Spellman family antics.
Intelligent, fast paced and excellent narration. This book kept me interested from the opening sentence to the last. I can't wait to get Brett Battles other books!!!
Scott Brick did a good job on the narration, maintaining the noir vibe. However, Gregg Hurwitz's story was thin...ultimately unsatisfying. Too much time spent describing LA and very little time spent developing a richer story.
This was unbearable. The only audible purchase I never finished. The narration was horrific....Holter Graham made every female character sound like a weak caricature. The chase through the state park was drawn out, way over blown, and the trickery was beyond ridiculous. Save your money!
Erik Davies did a respectable job on narration. The story took a bit to get into but ended up holding my attention. Not the best book I've ever written but it was entertaining.
