In the dark days after the death of Richard the Lionhearted, lives and lands would fall into upheaval at the hands of a power-hungry British ruler and his violent minions. One victim of the scourge is innocent Gillian, who is a mere child when the cruel and ambitious Baron Alford slaughters her father and tears her family apart. Alford, determined to recover a jeweled box for the despotic King John, is furious when the precious treasure slips through his fingers - only to be lost for more than a decade.

What did you like best about Ransom? What did you like least?

The main characters are well developed and I enjoyed the journey they traveled together.

What did you like best about this story?

The story flowed well and I did not get bored.

How could the performance have been better?

I HATED the male voices. Susan Duerden made my ears hurt when she tried to do "old man" voice. It was HORRIBL and raspy. She should not try to do "old man" voice.

Could you see Ransom being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Ransom would make a good lifetime movie.

    Any additional comments?

Julie Garwood set this up to be the first book in series. I hope to hear more about this group of people.

Luca Ambrus is a rare breed: vampire from birth, begotten by vampire parents, blood born. He is also an agent of the Council - the centuries-old cabal that governs vampirekind, preserving their secrecy and destroying those who betray them.

Would you consider the audio edition of Blood Born to be better than the print version?

I did not read the print version, but the audio version was a fast listen.

Who was your favorite character and why?

    Luca is sexy and broading.

    Which scene was your favorite?

When Luca made Chloe "his" with "bonding" was very intense.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

This book was a fast listen, and if you have a whole day to listen (while traveling or something) it is perfect.

    Any additional comments?

Would like the story to continue. I want to know what happens next with Nevada, Chloe and Indie.

An electromagnetic pulse flashes across the sky, destroying every electronic device and killing billions. Alex hiked into the woods to say good-bye to her dead parents and her personal demons. Now desperate to find out what happened after the pulse crushes her to the ground, Alex meets up with Tom, a young soldier, and Ellie, a girl whose grandfather was killed by the EMP. For this improvised family and the others who are spared, it's now a question of who can be trusted and who is no longer human.

Would you consider the audio edition of Ashes to be better than the print version?

Katherine Kellgren seemed to be yelling at times, and it was a bit distracting. I had to keep turning the audio up and down because my ears got tired.

What other book might you compare Ashes to and why?

I enjoyed Gone by Michael Grant more than Ashes.

Have you listened to any of Katherine Kellgren’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is the first time I have heard Katherine Kellgren read and at tmes she seemed very aggitated and that was distracting.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book is fast moving and hard to put down. Wish the ending lived up to the build up.
