I am a completely biased Nalini fan. Worth the credit and can't wait for the next one.
Pleasant book to listen to but obviously a second in the trilogy. Narration was fine and easy to listen to. I hope the third book is available soon!
I wrote to Rachael about the previous book that the narrator wasn't as good for these stories as Carrington but I guess it was already a done deal since Fiona's Flame came out soon after. I have to say the narrator almost killed it for me with her mans voice sounding like an octogenarian who smoked a pack a day for 70yrs. I sure hope that Ms. MacDuffie is brought back for any further books.
If you have the time to read a book I suggest kindle or hard copy for the last two books.
I'm not going to compare it with Cat and Bones.
Not a bad concept for the story line and fairly predictable. I personally found there to be a lot of waffling. Repetition of facts that, lets face it, we readers are not stupid nor are our memories bad enough to warrant continuous repetition of facts. Hopefully it's just because it's the beginning of the series and Jeaniene was just trying to set the scene and maybe some people need to be reminded, over and over again.
Tavia did a good job as usual but I kinda think that another narrator would have been better as we (fans) associate her too much with Cat and Bones.
It wasn't the kind of book I just couldn't put down and had to read all at once but it was a pleasant (if slightly monotonous) read (listen). I will be buying the next one to see how it goes.. GO IVY!!!
A lot of people haven't liked the narrator change but I found her much easier to listen to than Marguerite Gavin who I find a little dull. Yes some pronunciation is different which can often annoy but it didn't bother me too much. Gigi is much more up-beat in her narration which for me, made it easier to listen to.
Anyhow..back to Marguerite for the rest of the series anyway...I have listened to worse narration changes so this one was a pleasant surprise.
I was a bit worried that listening to a book this long would get tedious but it toddled along nicely and kept my interest up.
Unfortunately, Diana has gone and left us hanging again right at the end!!!! OMG>>>I hope we don't have to wait long for the next one.
This is the first Outlander novel I have listened to on audio although I do now own them all and I must say that Davina Porter did a capital job and all her voices were much the same as the ones in my head, so phew!
Wonderful ending to a fantastic series! I re-read the first two books prior to the release of the last and thoroughly enjoyed it for the second time around. I will re-read the series in the future too. I look forward to more of Deborah's books in the future!
I have to say this about all the Rock Chick books as each has made me cry at least once while listening to it. Awesome books!!!
I loved this book from start to finish. Made me cry several times. Can't really give more endorsement than that can I?
She's my heroine!! Unfortunately now I have to wait for Faith to write the next installment!!!
This book brought tears to my eyes more than once so if you are looking for a new series of books I highly recommend this one.
I initially got this book thinking it was a circle of seven book but upon listening to it for a bit I realized it wasn't. No big. It's your pretty standard His Rom formula. man meets woman, wants her, she resists, they get together then a baddy from her past kidnaps her and tries to kill her..yadda yadda.
Well worth a credit if you want some feel good action of a romantical (yes totally made up word) type.
Narration wasn't too bad (unfortunately, I have heard worse), some of the pronunciation drove me insane...
