This is an absolute cracker of a book! It is a must listen for anyone that owns or wants to own or build a business, has great tips, and is inspirational. Definitely one of the best business audiobooks I have downloaded, this book will get you motivated to build your business and get focused.
No, it's too hard to listen to with Hayward Morse narrating. He makes Jack Reacher sound like a dufus, and all the women sound whiney. I love Jack Reacher books, this is so far the only one I haven't enjoyed, and that is because of the narration. Not the best of the Reacher series either, a little bit predictable unfortunately. Still love every other Reacher book though.
He didn't give a great portrayal of Jack Reacher with the voice he chose to use for him, made him seem slow and a bit dull. Jeff Harding and Dick Hill do an awesome job of narrating Reacher, (and all of the other characters in the books) just not Hayward Morse. If this was the first Reacher book I listened to, I would have given up.
Try any of the other Reacher books narrated by Jeff Harding or Dick Hill.
Great story, and good to hear a story from Jack Reacher's background in the army
He's a excellent narrator, does an amazing job of all of the different voices. You can tell who the character is just from the way he speaks for them. Even does women's voices well.
Definitely. Trouble was, sleep got in the way, so couldn't listen to it all in one go.
The Jack Reacher series is awesome, and this is as good all as the others I have listened to. If you like Reacher, you will like this one.
Spoken in the first person, as if narrated by Reacher, which was a nice change from the normal third person style, helps you to get a good feel for him.
Best: The content is sound, and only just carries you through the ridiculously bad narration.
Least: Choppy, stilted and over the top narration. I read the other reviews talking about how bad the narration was, and thought, nah, I've never had a problem with any narration on any other audio book in the past, I'll be right. Big mistake.
Jim may write decent books, but he really needs to stick to what he is good at, and get professional narrators to read them. Here's an example
Not in a million lifetimes.
Yes, read by someone else.
I would even suggest a second release of this book, read by somebody else.
