Just when you think there absolutely no other sequels that can be added to a series... BAM... there it is. I loved it. Can't wait for the next Cross book.

    "Disappointing for me"
    Overall

I have just about EVERYTHING that James Patterson has in audio and half a dozen novels in print... by far this was the most disappointing audio I have listened to by JP. The ending was absolutely horrible and I would have to say close to the worst book ending I have ever heard; even if there might be a sequel. Sorry JP, this one wasn't for me but I will grab up the next one you publish... still. I love your writings; especially the Alex Cross series.

Thriller scribe Sophie Katz is as hard-boiled as a woman who drinks Grande Caramel Brownie Frappuccionos can be. So Sophie knows it's not paranoia, or post-divorce, living-alone-again jitters, when she becomes convinced that a crazed reader is sneaking into her apartment to reenact scenes from her books. The police, however, can't tell a good plot from an unmarked grave.

    Overall

This is my first novel by this author. This was a good "busy work" audio book. I listened to it while doing my household chores and office typing. In movie terms this would definately be a "chic flick."

As usual...J.P. has far exceeded his prior novels. Alex Cross novels are still my favorites; but this was a great one as well.

It's a story tailor-made for the nightly news: Dylan Meserve and Michaela Brand, young lovers and fellow acting students, vanish on the way home from a rehearsal. Three days later, the two of them are found in the remote mountains of Malibu, battered and terrified after a harrowing ordeal at the hands of a sadistic abductor.

You have to be desperate to hear someone talking to listen to this one to the end. After a 2 star beginning..... this one went on, and on, and on, only to fizzle out.

Haller is a Lincoln Lawyer, a criminal defense pro who operates out of the backseat of his Lincoln Town Car, to defend clients at the bottom of the legal food chain. It's no wonder that he is despised by cops, prosecutors, and even some of his own clients. But an investigator is murdered for getting too close to the truth and Haller quickly discovers that his search for innocence has taken him face to face with a kind of evil as pure as a flame.

Stone Barrington hasn't heard from his cousin, Dick Stone, in years, though he has fond memories of a teenage summer spent at his house in Maine. But then the CIA's Lance Cabot interrupts an otherwise pleasant meal at Elaine's with the news of Dick's death, apparently by his own hand. It seems that Dick Stone, a quiet family man who doubled as a CIA agent, methodically executed his wife, daughter, and then himself...or did he?

    "Fizzled at the end"
    Overall

This book was overall a pretty good book. This is my first title by this author. I was disappointed with the ending. I have become a fan of the James Patterson type endings; the type that ends with a bang. This mystery/thriller lacked both mystery and the thrill at the end. Again, it was still a good book and I would listen to it again.

Patterson's latest is "a slick, vastly enjoyable thriller." Jack Mullen's relentless crusade to discover the truth behind his younger brother's death puts him into a head-on collision with one of the most powerful and ruthless men in New York. As it unfolds that his brother was involved with some of the richest women and men in America - in ways Jack never imagined - his dream of justice fades. Only if he can somehow beat the rich at their own game will he be able to avenge his brother.

    B. Estes says: "Adventure and excitment"
    "Awesome!!"
    Overall

As always, James Patterson had my attention from the opening line on this one.

I have yet to hear a J.P. novel that I have not thoroughly enjoyed and would go as far as listening to them all a second time.

Kenneth says: "Get the print edition instead"
    "Almost useless in audio format"
    Overall

I learned a valuable lesson in purchasing this audiobook...I should have read the reviews first. It is almost useless in audio format. The meat of the lessons are refered to in written format. However, the material that was covered was interesting and I would consider the written format, but short of throwing money to the wind, I will see if one of the local libraries has it.

Deepak Chopra's wisdom is always interesting to me. Great author, wrong format.
