Against the scandal and seduction of Regency England, New York Times best-selling author Mary Balogh introduces an extraordinary family - the fiery, sensual Huxtables. Vanessa is the second daughter, proud and daring, a young widow who has her own reason for pursuing the most eligible bachelor in London. One that has nothing to do with love. Or does it?

The whole story revolves around how unattractive she is in comparison to her siblings and the ton and how the miserable adonis is stuck with her. What a waste of a good credit.

I usually enjoy Jennifers books, but this one dragged on & on. Too many words, not enough substance. The narrators voice made the characters sound older than they were. I will avoid the narrator in the future.

I wanted to read the book before seeing the movie on the big screen. Out of 100 chapters, the first 30+ were filled with philosophical and religious drivel. After that it got entertaining. The narrator was fantastic. I'm now going to see the movie because of all the great reviews.

"Gideon Cross came into my life like lightning in the darkness… He was beautiful and brilliant, jagged and white-hot. I was drawn to him as I’d never been to anything or anyone in my life. I craved his touch like a drug, even knowing it would weaken me. I was flawed and damaged, and he opened those cracks in me so easily…Gideon knew. He had demons of his own. And we would become the mirrors that reflected each other’s most private wounds…and desires."

This book is about two extremely dysfunctional people who use sex as an answer for everything. He's obsessively controlling and she caves to his every command. I thought they were going to attend therapy and start to become healthy, but that didn't happen. I like a juicy sex scene occasionally throughout a well written love story. This is just trash.

Sawyer Hudson, the only doctor in Buckhorn County, took it upon himself to rescue the beautiful but enigmatic woman who came literally crashing into his life. Though he knew he should keep things platonic and professional, around her his body had other ideas. And his heart was no more cooperative.

It's starts out with the narrator talking so low, slow & breathy for dramatic effect, you can hardly hear her with the volume all the way up. I fluxuated between eye rolling to feeling incredulous to 'Oh Please!'. I had to increase the speed to get through the first half. These brothers are supposed to be mature, respectful, professional men, yet they are sexually obsessed and have absolutely no will power. It's all about the sex which makes for a tedious unoriginal boring story. I couldn't get through the second half. It was way too painful. There are far too many high caliber, original books out there than to waste time on this drivel.

Robyn Carr’s best-selling Virgin River series captivates fans with stories of young men and women given second chances at love in a small northern California town. Four years ago, Sean and Franci broke up when he refused to commit. Now vacationing in Virgin River, Sean is shocked to run across Franci again. He’s grown up and wants to give things another shot, but she can’t afford to have him break her heart again.

Therese Plummer ruins the book. I enjoyed the first few Virgin River books and made the mistake of buying several more. With each book, the reader got more & more irritating because all the voices are nearly identical, especially the men. The story lines got more tedious as well. It got to be more of a small town scenario of everybody knowing everybodys' business and less interesting tale. In this book, not one, but two pastors are having premarital sex. That's really not cool. I had to delete the last few Virgin River books I had bought because I can't stand another minute listening to Therese and the morals seem to be taking a dive.

Acclaimed author Susanna Kearsley's previous works have won the RT Book Reviews Reviewers Choice Award, and finaled for both the UK Romantic Novel of the Year and the RITA awards.

Eva Ward is a modern woman thrown back three centuries to 1715 - only to find that might be exactly where she belongs. There, she finds true love with Daniel Butler, but the discord surrounding Hanoverian King George plunges the lovers into a world of intrigue, treason, and romance.

Susanna Kearsley never fails to entertain. All time travel stories are going to have some similar traits, but this one had enough originality to make it really refreshing. I enjoyed the story and the varied characters in both eras. The ending had a bit of a twist that I didn't expect. The main characters accent was a little too American sounding but not enough to detract from the story, and was otherwise excellent. This author is in my top ten favorites and look forward to her next book.

It started off good, then it became apparent it was one of THOSE cheap cookie-cutter romance novels where the same lines are repeated over and over and over. The lead characters assuming the worst, constantly whining. Same story, different names & locations, nothing original. Ugh! What a waste of a good credit.

If you like the same preface in a romance over & over, than you may like this book. First there is an instant attraction and they are thrown together. Petty fighting and lack of communication leads to poor assumptions which leads to stupid reactions causing distrust & the insecurities balloon out of proportion. The sexual tension is prolonged by every imaginable interruption. The suspense is created from the constant replay of each assuming the worst and acting upon them. Take out all the fluff, arguing & rehashing and this book will only be a few hours long. This author goes on my no-read list.

Given Luke’s reaction, Moira has some soul - searching of her own to do. Scarred by her father’s abandonment, she wonders if Luke, with his playboy past, is truly the family man she longs for. Adding to her dilemma, she’s offered an amazing new job....

Cookie cutter variety, no imagination, boring story line, maddening family drama where everyone has to give their two cents, Moira was a big whiner. The narrator was boring too. I couldn't finish even the first half. I wish I could get my credit back. What a waste.
