What a delightful story!
Love, murder, betrayal, and family secrets all set against the backdrop of modern day England and during the 2nd World War. This story has an end that not only twists and turns, but double-backs upon itself for a thoroughly enjoyable ending; one that I could have never anticipated, but end up being so absolutely satisfying that it stayed with me for days.
I am really selective with my precious credits, and browse for hours on end. I didn't love Morton's last book, so I was hesitant to buy this audiobook. Not only did it end up being the best credit spent thus far, I purchased three hardback copies for gift-giving (including one for myself).
My only smidgen of criticism is for the Australian narrator who had a problem with English accents. As she voiced the characters, she would switch mid-narration between Australian and English - and it threw me off quite a bit in the beginning.
That being said, this is now one of my all-time favorite books....top 10 status.
