The brutal murder of Dr. Azor Sparks in an alley behind a restaurant is greeted with public outrage and a demand for swift, sure justice. But the investigation into the well-known surgeon's death is raising too many questions and providing too few answers for homicide detective Lieutenant Peter Decker. , for example, would the family of a man so beloved respond to his slaying with more surprise than grief? And what linked a celebrated doctor with strict fundamentalist beliefs to a gang of outlaw bikers?

The reader for this story does a great job. I can visualize all the characters. All Evanovich novels are so much fun and never get boring! I have read almost all of them. You don't have to read them in order.

He's a self-described beach bum who won his houseboat in a card game. He's also a knight errant who's wary of credit cards, retirement benefits, political parties, mortgages, and television. He only works when his cash runs out, and his rule is simple: he'll help you find whatever was taken from you, as long as he can keep half.

I thought I would try reading the first book of this series. I was disappointed. He just rambles on and on and I got very bored - no action to speak of. I wouldn't recommend this book. There are so many good books to pick from.

Why we think it’s a great listen: An all-time Audible favorite that mixes historic fiction, adventure, and romance with one of the most fascinating literary devices: time travel. Outlander introduces an exhilarating world of heroism and breathtaking thrills as one woman is torn between past and present, passion and love. In 1945, former combat nurse Claire Randall returns from World War II and joins her husband for a second honeymoon. But their blissful reunion is shattered....

Would you try another book from Diana Gabaldon and/or Davina Porter?

I haven't read any of her other books, but there are so many other authors out there that I enjoy, I would not buy another one of hers.

Has Outlander turned you off from other books in this genre?

I don't know what genre this is. It is just plain boring.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator was fine; it was just the story!

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Outlander?

    Too much jumping around.

    Any additional comments?

This was recommended to me by someone who loved this series! It was just too boring and went on and on with no action.
