I really enjoyed this audio book. The narrator was excellent and even though it was a bit difficult to keep track of the many characters, and the time shifts, it was well worth it.

The poor relations, those genteel paupers of society who live on little more than their dignity, have banded together and started The Poor Relation hotel, hoping to be bought out by their embarrassed relations - but as the hotel prospered, they began to enjoy the fruits of their labor. Now once more they are in need of funds. To stoop to crime in their days of poverty was one thing, but to turn to it again when they have enjoyed a certain amount of success is quite another. But they all agree: the hotel must go on.

Would you consider the audio edition of Miss Tonks Turns to Crime to be better than the print version?

I've loved the book series for years, It's great to listen to it as well. Each has it's own charms, but I must admit Davina Porter is charming to listen to.

What did you like best about this story?

The confidence Miss Tonks gains through her adventures

Have you listened to any of Davina Porter’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Davina Porter is always excellent to listen to.

Award-winning author Craig Johnson's critically acclaimed debut Western mystery takes listeners to the breathtaking mountains of Wyoming for a tale of cold-blooded vengeance. Four high-school boys were given suspended sentences for raping a Cheyenne girl. Now, two of the boys have been killed, and only Sheriff Walt Longmire can keep the other two safe.

I am rapidly working my way through this series and I LOVE it. George Guidall's narration is absolutely spot on for each and every character and Walt Longmire is a great man's man protagonist. You really feel the chill and wild beauty from the descriptions of Wyoming, you clearly hear the respect that Craig Johnson has for the mountains and people of Wyoming. There is some cursing (Vic - I speak of you), but it matches the character so well I wasn't as bothered by it as I could have been. I highly recommend these books to anyone who loves a good mystery and a well written book combined with a perfect narrator.

When we last left the mighty wizard detective Harry Dresden, he wasn't doing well. In fact, he had been murdered by an unknown assassin. But being dead doesn't stop him when his friends are in danger. Except now he has nobody, and no magic to help him. And there are also several dark spirits roaming the Chicago shadows who owe Harry some payback of their own. To save his friends - and his own soul - Harry will have to pull off the ultimate trick without any magic....

After all the controversy over having a new narrator, I went back and listened to this whole series again and then listened to Ghost Story with John Glover. I think he was great. I guess I'm not as tied to James Marsters as I thought I was. I agree with the reviewers that Marsters really has grown into his role as Harry Dresden and admittedly he's fabulous now. That being said, I think John Glover did an excellent job stepping in and giving Harry and the other characters a different flavor. Variety is the spice of life!

Savor one of the most clever of Christie's suspenseful classics. An American businessman is stabbed to death aboard a luxury train, the Orient Express, snowbound in the middle of Europe. Nothing escapes the eagle eye and quick intelligence of the great Hercule Poirot, and clues abound. Sorting through a dozen perfectly respectable passengers, all suspects, Poirot is tenacious in his pursuit of the truth.

David Suchet really is Poirot in my mind. He narrates this book wonderfully. One of the very best of Christie's mysteries.

It is the cusp of World War I, and all the European powers are arming up. The Austro-Hungarians and Germans have their Clankers, steam-driven iron machines loaded with guns and ammunition. The British Darwinists employ fabricated animals as their weaponry. The Leviathan is a living airship, the most formidable airbeast in the skies of Europe.

This first installment of a cozy mystery series transports listeners back to the bygone era of 1923 Britain, where unflappable flapper and fledgling journalist Daisy Dalrymple daringly embarks on her first writing assignment, and promptly stumbles across a corpse.

I enjoyed the book. It's a light and breezy mystery. However, the narrator sounded like a Theater Arts major attempting a British accent. It is not convincing, especially after hearing Barbara Rosenblat's spot on character portrayals in the Amelia Peabody mystery series.
