"Highly Entertaining"
I really enjoyed this audio book. The narrator was excellent and even though it was a bit difficult to keep track of the many characters, and the time shifts, it was well worth it.
"Classic Marion Chesney"
I've loved the book series for years, It's great to listen to it as well. Each has it's own charms, but I must admit Davina Porter is charming to listen to.
The confidence Miss Tonks gains through her adventures
Davina Porter is always excellent to listen to.
"Perfect combination of great writing and narration"
I am rapidly working my way through this series and I LOVE it. George Guidall's narration is absolutely spot on for each and every character and Walt Longmire is a great man's man protagonist. You really feel the chill and wild beauty from the descriptions of Wyoming, you clearly hear the respect that Craig Johnson has for the mountains and people of Wyoming. There is some cursing (Vic - I speak of you), but it matches the character so well I wasn't as bothered by it as I could have been. I highly recommend these books to anyone who loves a good mystery and a well written book combined with a perfect narrator.
"Great addition to the Harry Dresden Series"
After all the controversy over having a new narrator, I went back and listened to this whole series again and then listened to Ghost Story with John Glover. I think he was great. I guess I'm not as tied to James Marsters as I thought I was. I agree with the reviewers that Marsters really has grown into his role as Harry Dresden and admittedly he's fabulous now. That being said, I think John Glover did an excellent job stepping in and giving Harry and the other characters a different flavor. Variety is the spice of life!
"Classic Christie read by Classic Poirot"
David Suchet really is Poirot in my mind. He narrates this book wonderfully. One of the very best of Christie's mysteries.
"Great Listen, esp. for teens"
We have all loved this series. So glad we found it when all three books were out. Loved Alan Cumming as the narrator. I'll be watching for more books that he reads. This has been a wonderful introduction to steampunk novels.
"Amateurish British accent"
I enjoyed the book. It's a light and breezy mystery. However, the narrator sounded like a Theater Arts major attempting a British accent. It is not convincing, especially after hearing Barbara Rosenblat's spot on character portrayals in the Amelia Peabody mystery series.
"I'm Charmed"
What an absolutely charming audiobook. The narrator was perfect. Our whole family listened to this in the car and we all loved it. I now have hopes my son will give "The Graveyard Book" a try. Thank you Audible for offering this for free, it's nice to have little perks for members!
"Great Introduction to Anne McCaffrey"
My daughter loved the Dragonsinger series. She's not quite old enough to read the rest of the series, but this was a great introduction to a wonderful fantasy author.
"Wonderful Vocal Interpretation"
This reader is wonderful at portraying Poriot. A great way to enjoy Agatha Christie all over again.
