"Excellent Book!"
So far, I have really enjoyed all the books by Lisa Gardner. This book was really intriguing, with lots of twists and turns. To be one of several women who survives being a victim of violent attack by the same man is horrendous, but to fight back is even better! You go, girls! Lisa Gardner writes such compelling books. Be sure to check out all her books.
"Very Disappointed"
I have been a big fan of Lisa Gardner's and was so thrilled to see she had a new book out. Unfortunately, this book was not her best. I didn't care for the reader as he read too mechanically. The book just didn't have the twists, turns, and excitement of her previous books (i.e., The Survivor's Club, The Next Accident). It's an okay listen, but certainly not worthy of 5 stars.
"Loved it!"
I have listened to several of the Sweet Potato Queens books and I absolutely LOVE them! They make me laugh while driving, and I really don't care how long it takes me to get to work in downtown Dallas! Jill Conner Browne as the author is perfect ... she has the southern drawl that drags you in and keeps you laughing. The accent alone keeps me laughing. It is really unfortunate that you do not have all the fabulous recipes in print ..... (sigh). You will definitely have to go back to the books and listen to and write down the great recipes. Sweet Potato Queens know how to eat!
"Excellent book!"
I loved this book! Very intriguing story, although a bit far-fetched on how real legal cases unfold. If you are even a little bit interested in the law, you will like this book. I liked the main character, the "bad guy", and the "good guys." I liked how the all woman law firm backed their associate and helped her in her time of need. I especially liked her "free thinking" and butt kicking in court. It was a very good listen/read, and I will definitely download more books by this author.
"Excellent"
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. What a revealing book about the "nothingness" and forced subservience of women in the Middle East. For a country, in this day and age, to treat women as though they were not worthy of anything absolutely appalls me. I am so glad Carmen bin Laden and her daughters escaped such a horrible life.
"Very good"
I really enjoyed this audiobook.
"The Nanny Diaries"
I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook. Each day, as I arrived at work, I could not wait for the end of the day so I could listen to this story some more! I started listening to audiobooks during Lent to help me overcome my impatience with other drivers ... and it works! Now, I don't care how long it takes me to get somewhere!
In the Nanny Diaries, it is amazing how wealthy people treat those they feel are "beneath" them. It is all too true, I'm sure. This is a very good listen and I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
"The Da Vinci Code"
I loved this book. Dan Brown has provided yet another well-written and intriguing story. I love the descriptions of famous art. I am looking forward to visiting to Louve in Paris and seeing what I read about. The unabridged audiobook is a must have!
