    The Big Burn is an eye opener. It reads like a suspense thriller in a way because you are rooting for humans against the fire. Images are incredible and the mind set of the time as well as the political strife is well explained through the unfolding of this most terrible firestorm.

    The first victim was found lying on a sidewalk in the rain. The second was murdered in her own apartment building. Police lieutenant Eve Dallas had no problem finding connections between the two crimes. Both victims were beautiful and highly successful women. Their glamorous lives and loves were the talk of the city.

    This narrator is incredible. I would almost commit to listening to anything she reads. The story and characters in the book are brought to life flawlessly by her narration.
