so well written and so well read. also read pompeii. both a brilliant writter and brilliant reader.
written in the context of past and relatively current events. kept me interested all the way.
i read the book based upon the comments in the n.y. times saying that it is succeeding pimarily on word of mouth...and i agree. well written, beautifully read. it runs the course of anger, dismay, contempt, compassion, curiosity. could not stop listing. story is never contrived. it follows its own natural course
starts off great. fascinating with regard to the show. slows down significantly when trying to force feed his gayness and his personal life upon his mother. other parts with regard to his mother's illness are also depressing. not what i hoped for.
and an extraordinary reader...or is it an extraordinary reader with an extraordinary story? either way you can't go wrong. this is a wonderful find that makes listening so, so pleasurable.
kept me interested all the way. the author/reader was couragous and passionate in his reading. a wonderful find.
heard the auther won an open contest and he is is worthy of the win. enjoyed the book throughout. look forward to reading him in the future.
