Kevin J. Anderson is one of the most popular and acclaimed science fiction writers in the world. He is a New York Times best-selling author with more than 11 million copies of his books in print. Now the epic saga he began with Hidden Empire continues in this breathtaking novel.

    Overall

Anyone who has loved Robert Heinlein, Ben Bova, Spyder Robinson, Andre Norton, Timothy Zahn, Bill Smith, Brian Daley, A.E. Van Vogt and too many others to remember to mention will love Kevin J. Anderson's Saga of the Seven Sun Series. His character development and plot twists keep the books unpredictable, the universe he has created is interesting, and the stories come to life as you read or listen.

I will rate every book available on this web site in this series as 5 stars for the same reason, so will not restate this or the written evaluation I added for A Forest of Stars, part of this series.

I highly encourage Audible to add Books 4, 5, and 6 as soon as possible so that its listeners can follow the schemes, characters, and enemy introduced in Book one to an ending of sorts.

Kevin J. Anderson's Book 7, Metal Swarm, not listed as "Book 7," continues the story of these same races, planets, empires, etc., and will be released on audio in December 2007. I hope that audible will add this one to its libray ASAP.

Millions of people have thrilled to best-selling authors Bill O'Reilly and historian Martin Dugard's Killing Kennedy and Killing Lincoln, works of nonfiction that have changed the way we view history. Now the anchor of The O'Reilly Factor details the events leading up to the murder of the most influential man in history: Jesus of Nazareth. Nearly 2,000 years after this beloved and controversial young revolutionary was brutally killed by Roman soldiers, more than 2.2 billion human beings attempt to follow his teachings and believe he is God.

What did you love best about Killing Jesus?

The history surrounding the life and times of one of history's most important figures. This book does not draw conclusions about the veracity of Christianity, but it does tell the story of the times, politics, nature of society, and Jesus's life, particularly his ministry and last few years. This is done in an interesting and captivating manner that kept me interested and wanting to go on....something not all that common with a biography or history text.

What other book might you compare Killing Jesus to and why?

O'Reilly and Dugard's books "Killing Lincoln" and "Killing Kennedy" are written with the same style and action. These books provide history, but in an active and interesting fashion, using a story telling style that keeps the reader involved. "Killing Jesus" is in my opinion, the best of the series.

    Which scene was your favorite?

I can't really say I had a scene that stands out. Everything in the book kept my interest for different reasons.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Obviously, the time from Jesus's entry into Jerusalem until his death and the events of that few days were of great interest, but it was all interesting. I like the fact that the book is not "preachy" and doesn't draw any conclusions about the Bible or whether Jesus was the son of God, but rather just tells the story and lets the reader's beliefs or feelings rule how the book is received.

    Any additional comments?

I think everyone will learn something from this book. The life and times of the era were harsh, people often lived cruel and difficult lives, and the rulers of the day were all harsh and difficult people. It is amazing the Roman Empire lasted as long as it did given the corruption and lack of values its leaders exhibited.

Set a few decades from now, Rainbows End is an epic adventure that encapsulates in a single extended family the challenges of the technological advances of the first quarter of the 21st century. The information revolution of the past 30 years blossoms into a web of conspiracies that could destroy Western civilization. At the center of the action is Robert Gu, a former Alzheimer's victim who has regained his mental and physical health through radical new therapies, and his family.

    Overall

I found Rainbow's End interesting and entertaining, so it is worth reading. That being said, I'd rate it 3 1/2 on the scale of good science fiction. I can't quite put my finger on why it wasn't a solid 4 or 5 other than the ending was a bit flat and the story is probably more aimed at a younger audience. The events are a bit too much of a stretch, so you have to suspend logic to some extent. Otherwise, I found the pace, story-line, and plots very interesting and captivating throughout the audio book. I recommend this book to all science fiction and futurist fans.

When Union Colonel Andrew Keane led his blue-coated soldiers aboard the transport ship, he could not have foreseen that their next port of call would be neither in the North nor the South, but on an alternate world where no human was free. Storm-swept through a space-time warp, Keane's regiment was shipwrecked in an alien land, a land where all that stood between them and destruction was the power of rifles over swords, spears, and crossbows.

This is the first in a series of books known as the "Lost Regiment" series, and I wish they were all on audio books, however, you have to read this. It is historically accurrate insofar as the regiment goes. It should be, its written by a historian. What happens to the regiment and the story to follow you'll have to read for yourself, but it is a great, exciting, edge of the seat story you won't be able to put down until the end. It leaves you wanting more...to find out what happens after this initial story is concluded.

I hope audible.com puts the rest of the series to audio and I hope some producer takes this story and makes a movie...its ready to be a hit!

You think you know about Islam. But, did you know that Islam teaches that Muslims must wage war to impose Islamic law on non-Muslim states, or that American Muslim groups are engaged in a huge cover-up of Islamic doctrine? These and other "politically incorrect" facts are revealed by Robert Spencer in The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades).

This book has made so much that has mystified me about the middle east, Muslim behavior, and Arabic culture so much clearer. It really helps understand events in the middle east and worry about whether solutions can be arrived at. Living in Kuwait, this has opened my eyes to things I didn't understand in my everyday dealings and observations of the Kuwaitis and other middle easterners. This book is spot-on!

I've gone through every audio book in the series and have the next one on order. Kevin Anderson has created a wonderful universe full of intrigue, plot twists, romance, interspecies conflict and cooperation, and adventure. It has been fun to hear, and that is part of what any fiction is all about. These are all fun books which are well worth reading if you like science fiction. I highly recommend the Saga of Seven Sun series to all who love science fiction. Its not hard science based, but it is very entertaining.

How does an ordinary person with an ordinary income reach their seven-figure dreams? First they must own their own home, and do it David Bach's way. The financial coach who has helped millions to finish rich is back with a simple, powerful solution to get rich in real estate. As David says, "Renters stay poor, homeowners get rich, and smart landlords laugh all the way to the bank!"

My title says it all. This is a superb book, in combination with David's other book, the Automatic Millionaire, for the average person to end life with the resources to live a comfortable retirement while enjoying life all along the way without spending a lot of time thinking about investing or retirement planning. Basically, this is all about "tithing" to yourself so you don't have to depend on anyone else for a comfortable retirement, and doing it almost automatically, almost without giving a thought to any specifics. Of course you have to pay some attention and believe, but bottom line is to JUST DO IT!

I you start at age 18 with an IRA and automatically save $2,000 per year for your entire working life (to age 65), at age 65, a person whose investments have performed below the market average for the past 82 years (e.g. receiving an average 10% average return which is below the market average) will have over $4.5M. Add some Real Estate to the mix and the results are even better, plus you have a paid up place to live! Time is your friend, but it is never too late to start.

Read this book and David's other book, "The Automatic Millionaire" which you should read first, to assure you have a wonderful life all the way to the end! Its almost painless if you follow the advice in these two books!

I do not recommend you purchase this audio book. You need the handout that must come with this book if you purchase it over the counter. While I belief that learning the alphabet and pronunciations is a critical element to beginning the Arabic speaking process, this CD completely fails to teach anything useful in the form it comes. A very bad purchase unles someone adds the handouts that should definitely accompany this book. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME.
