Sixteen-year-old Zoey Redbird has just been Marked as a fledgling vampire and joins the House of Night, a school where she will train to become an adult vampire. That is, if she makes it through the Change - and not all of those who are Marked do. It sucks to begin a new life, especially away from her friends, and on top of that, Zoey is no ordinary fledgling. She has been chosen as special by the vampire Goddess Nyx.

I was really disappointed in this book. It seems like the authors were just wanting to ride off the fame of the Twilight series. And it's a pathetic attempt, at that. It makes sense that it was written by a 16-year old girl but I'm appalled that she wrote it with her mother. The book borderlines on wiccan rituals and I guess if you are into that sort of thing, it's no big deal. But that along with the sexual content of the book in a few places, it just is not appropriate for the audience the book is geared towards.

Oh- and the reader of this book was horrid. I think that it probably made me dislike it even more. When the reader used an imitation southern accent, she sounded like she was impersonating an old lady and not a southern teenager. It was a blaring distraction.

To be irrevocably in love with a vampire is both fantasy and nightmare, woven into a dangerously heightened reality for Bella Swan. Pulled in one direction by her intense passion for Edward Cullen, and in another by her profound connection to werewolf Jacob Black, she has endured a tumultuous year of temptation, loss, and strife to reach the ultimate turning point.

I was so captivated by the Twilight books and this was no exception. I absolutely love the storyline and all of the characters. Stephenie Meyer does a great job with the development from the beginning with Twilight all the way through to the end with this book. I am very sad that she is not finishing Midnight Sun as this would have been the first book series that I have read that was so interestingly multi-faceted and in-depth with character development. I hope that Stephenie Meyer will reconsider and surprise us with more books with these much loved characters she has created.

Aislinn has always seen faeries. Powerful and dangerous, they walk hidden in the mortal world. Aislinn fears their cruelty - especially if they learn of her Sight - and wishes she were as blind to their presence as other teens.

While I did enjoy listening to the book, I feel that there were so many details that weren't developed or explained as well as they should have been. The storyline was great and the characters all were interesting. But I felt that they weren't developed as fully as they could have been and should have been. I finished listening to the book but it's not one of those that I feel compelled to listen to again nor have the desire to pick up its sequels. It's sad really. I had hoped for more potential.
