William Lowell Kane and Abel Rosnovski, one the son of a Boston millionaire, the other a penniless polish immigrant-born on the same day near the turn of the century on opposite sides of the world-are brought together by fate and the quest of a dream. Two men - ambitious, powerful, ruthless - are locked in a relentless struggle to build an empire, fueled by their all-consuming hatred.

Given the importance of what they do, and the controversies that often surround them, and the violent people they sometimes confront, it is remarkable that in the history of this country only four active federal judges have been murdered. Judge Raymond Fawcett has just become number five.... Nothing is as it seems and everything’s fair game in this wickedly clever new novel from John Grisham, the undisputed master of the legal thriller.

If it were a written version you'd say it is a definate "page turner" that you didn't want to put down.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Lots of twists that surprise you at the end.

What about J.D. Jackson’s performance did you like?

    Did a great job.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Really caught me off guard. Didn't suspect anything until it all came together.
