Minor Universe 31 is a vast story-space on the outskirts of fiction, where paradox fluctuates like the stock market, lonely sexbots beckon failed protagonists, and time travel is serious business. Every day, people get into time machines and try to do the one thing they should never do: change the past. That’s where Charles Yu, time travel technician—part counselor, part gadget repair man—steps in. He helps save people from themselves. Literally.

I love time travel stories, and I love science fiction... Those aspects of this book were great, and I really enjoyed the writing style. What I couldn't get past, was the lack of story. It's a worth while read/listen for the science fiction, but if you're looking for a story, it's just not there...

A twisted tale of murder in the world of big-stakes bass fishing tournaments. Filled with ex-wives, evangelists, and an armed pit-bull, this is a story that could only be concocted by Carl Hiaasen, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, New York Times best-selling author, and czar of Florida noir fiction.

Double Whammy was recommended to me by a friend as a good place to start in the Carl Hiaasen world. I enjoyed the characters and his writing style, and am currently reading Hoot to my son (and really enjoying it), but the overall story just didn't grab me and keep me rushing to my phone to listen to more...

Neanderthals have developed a radically different civilization on a parallel Earth. A Neanderthal physicist, Ponter Boddit, accidentally passes from his universe into a Canadian underground research facility. Fortunately, a team of human scientists, including expert paleo-anthropologist Mary Vaughan, promptly identifies and warmly receives Ponter. Solving the language problem and much else is a mini-computer, called a Companion, implanted in the brain of every Neanderthal. But it can't help his fellow scientist back in his world, Adikor Huld, when the authorities charge Adikor with his murder.

This is one of those books that really makes you stop and look at how we fit into the overall picture. I LOVE these types of books. You may, or may not agree with Sawyer's take on humanity, but it really makes you step back and evaluate where the human race is, and where we are going...

Jonathan Davis was a treat to listen to as well. Well done!

Whatever happened to Calico Joe? It began quietly enough with a pulled hamstring. The first baseman for the Cubs AAA affiliate in Wichita went down as he rounded third and headed for home. The next day, Jim Hickman, the first baseman for the Cubs, injured his back. The team suddenly needed someone to play first, so they reached down to their AA club in Midland, Texas, and called up a 21-year-old named Joe Castle. He was the hottest player in AA and creating a buzz....

If you loved baseball as a kid, or love it now, this is a must. I should not have listened to this one, because I don't like baseball. Silly move on my part.

The writing was fantastic, and the human side of the story was great. Too much baseball for me... I know, it's about baseball, but I was hoping for a heavier weight towards the other story elements.

The narration was fantastic! Well done Singer!

First off, the narrators were awesome in this one. A great performance!

The story fell a bit short for me. The overall storyline was good, but it took way to long to get there. Some folks will love it, but I need the story to keep moving forward or my mind starts to drift.

Aidan and Sarah Cooper have no idea what they’re getting into one afternoon when they discover a mysterious coded document in a secret compartment of an antique English desk their father recently bought at an auction. Something about the document seems familiar to Sarah, and that night she realizes what it is: the document seems to be referring to some books she has read - the Starcatchers series, about the origin of Peter Pan. But how could that be? The document seems far older than the books. And of course, the books are just stories....

What a treat for anyone who loved the Peter and the Starcatcher series. I constantly enjoyed the modern take on the series. A pleasant surprise! The narrator did a great job keeping the story interesting and bringing the characters to life. Jim Dale was a tough act to follow, but great job!!!

Would you listen to Gasparilla's Treasure again? Why?

A fun listen for the entire family. I'm sure we'll listen to this one again. A great way to enjoy that long car ride.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I loved the side kick, Josh. His one liners made me laugh out loud, and he was masterfully performed.

Which character – as performed by Glenn Hascall – was your favorite?

The narrators performance really brought the characters to life. From the great grandfather to the school bully, all the characters dialogue was thoroughly enjoyable.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I listened to this one in one sitting while on the drive from Miami to Orlando. A perfect fit.
