In the time before the Confessors, when the world is a dark and dangerous place, where treason and treachery are the rule of the day, comes one heroic woman, Magda Searus, who has just lost her husband and her way in life.

"Great story! Narration-not bad, but did detract."

What made the experience of listening to The First Confessor the most enjoyable?

The storyline was fantastic! It brought you right into the heart and mind of the main character. It gave details about things that led into situations in the Sword of Truth series, which was great!

What did you like best about this story?

The details that it revealed and the complexity of the decision making that was done made this story really stand out.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

The narration did keep pace with the story. However, she made several mistakes with the changes in the characters voices which was very distracting.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    The Power of Truth

    Any additional comments?

Terry Goodkind is a master! This prequel to his Sword of Truth series was another fabulous masterpiece! The narrator made frequent mistakes with her tones for characters. For example, a woman speaking was given a masculine tone and vice versa. This was very distracting to me, as I had to momentarily realize it was the female character that said something and not the male, etc. Her voice was soothing and easy to listen to when this was not happening, though.
