Gregor is summoned back to the Underland by the terms of a second prophecy. Spies have reported the sighting of a Rat King, a character who has been legendary since the Middle Ages. Recognizable by its tremendous size and snow-white coat, the Rat King is destined to bring a World War to the Underland. Gregor eventually comes face to face with the Rat King, and to his surprise, he finds he is unable to kill this creature. His heart tells him he's making the right decision.

Annabelle McMartin is gone for good, but something worse lurks just out of sight - watching, waiting, preparing to strike. Then a field trip to the local art museum reveals a shock. What Olive discovers will create a chain of events that propel her to discoveries she may not wish to uncover, involving Morton's vanished parents and the very deepest, darkest roots of Aldous McMartin's creepy painted world.

Would you consider the audio edition of Still Life to be better than the print version?

Not sure, I didn't read the book. I listened to the audio version.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Rutherford Dewey, he was interesting to listen to... fun facts about history, etc. He was also mysterious at times along with his Grandmother. He thought through things sensibly before reacting.

What does Lexy Fridell bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Life in the characters. She really felt like Olive vs. just the voice to the story's narrative.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Morton found his parents. It would have been great to get more emotion though out of that part. It seemed like the audio just glossed over the reunion.

    Any additional comments?

I thought the series could have been wrapped up in one less book. Book 4, The Strangers was good; however, seemed to drag a bit. All in all it was a great read! Thank you!

When Gregor falls through a grate in the laundry room of his apartment building, he hurtles into the dark Underland, where spiders, rats, and cockroaches coexist uneasily with humans. This world is on the brink of war, and Gregor's arrival is no accident. A prophecy foretells that Gregor has a role to play in the Underland's uncertain future. Gregor wants no part of it, until he realizes it's the only way to solve the mystery of his father's disappearance.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I am a fiction, kid/adult adventure book fan. I read The Hunger Games and loved it. Suzanne Colllins is amazing at turning words into reality through her vivid descriptions. I truly appreciate her style of writing and find the level of quality refreshing. I would HIGHLY recommend this book (the entire series!) to anyone who enjoys leaving on an adventure with some neat creatures and humans. I loved the adventure and the meaning/lessons throughout. What a great book!

What did you like best about this story?

The author's vivid descriptions... her word usage.

What does Paul Boehmer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

At first, I wasn't sure about his voice and its fit. However, as soon as I got more absorbed into the book, I realized he was a perfect pick. He did very well with all the characters. He gave me the ability to live in the shoes of the characters versus just "reading" about them. He gave them emotions and made them feel real -- made them feel like individuals even though his voice was used for all.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I got addicted to the storyline pretty quickly. So, yes.

    Any additional comments?

    Simply... this series is great!
