"Great book, fair narrator"
The book, like any Mead production, is excellent. The characters are intriguing and the story line and premise are truly unique. I think the narrator is okay, though time and time again I can't help but think the narrator is reading in a different emphasis or "feel" than the author intended. The voices she uses are hit or miss as far as conveying the author's intent for the characters. Having said that, she still does a fair job and the novel is definitely worth the time.
"Writing still good, narrators MUCH better"
I enjoyed the first three books on audiobook, but I will admit I was annoyed by the narrator. Mack was portrayed as just a little too whiny for me to love the audio book. But the writing was excellent, the plot twists were nice, the characters, intriguing. In the latest edition of Moning's Fever series, someone made the decision not only to change the female narrator, but to add a male narrator for the male voices. I was delightedly surprised. Suddenly, the characters took on new life. They were simply spell binding. While all of the books are good, this one stands out in my mind and I have to think at least part of that was the excellent narration. Bravo to Ms. Ross and Mr. Gigante and of course, bravo to Ms. Moning. Thank you for enjoyable "read."
"Captivating in it's entirety..."
This was flat-out a wonderful book. The characters, plot lines, and details were simply wonderful. The narrator, and apparently writer as well, gave a life to this story which, in retrospect, seems unearthly and unreal. I simply can't stop thinking about the story and I dearly hope he considers a sequel. Thank you for this experience.
"A surprisingly wonderful discovery"
I downloaded Already Dead on a whim and I was happily surprised. Charlie Huston has authored a novel which mixes film noir with elements of the supernatural and combined both in the character of Joe Pitt. Pitt is a sympathetic character in the sense that he struggles with "everyday" trials and tribulations as do we all. He must deal with work politics, put food on the table, and handle an adult relationship. And yet, into each of these aspects Huston has woven elements beyond the everyday. Moreover, the narrator has perfectly captured the spirit, not only of Pitt, but of the supporting cast as well. Bravo to the author and to the narrator. I have already downloaded the second novel, and eagerly await the third.
"Provocative"
A fascinating look at the economics of the everyday. Our lives, our culture, our society are all examined from a new perspective. Excellent cocktail party fodder and thoroughly thought-provoking. A must read.

"Yummy"
Fast, smart, funny...Anthony Bourdain provides a glimpse into his world as a professional chef. Not always pretty, but always entertaining. I finished this listen a few days ago and I still can't stop thinking about it. Enjoyable from beginning to end.
