I enjoyed this book a lot, the narrator took some getting used to but about a half hour into it, I felt like I was having coffee with a friend and discussing pop culture. I don't know if I would have enjoyed it as much if I was not in the author's age range, but since I am, I found it very thought-provoking and well-explained. Discussing some of the topics after reading, I discovered that Batman is a highly sensitive subject with a lot of people. I find myself evaluating people's motivations (characters or real people) with a more discerning eye after reading this. Well worth the credit spent.
Possibly, if I needed a refresher on treatment of childhood ptsd. This was very interesting and enlightening. The narrator had a soothing voice and discussed the cases in a calm manner without making it too 'clinical'. I left the book with a lot of things to think about.
Most of the cases discussed were horrifying but the treatment and follow-up gives hope that there is hope for traumatized children with the right care and attention without hiding the failures or future issues of the patients. There are no happy endings, but there is hope for kids that get the help they need.
Yes, I probably will. It was fast paced and detailed and I felt like I got to know the characters and the universe. I enjoyed this a lot.
I favored 'M', actually, he always made me smile when he appeared. The protagonists were great but the side characters made me want to know more.
I really liked the dialect he chose for Nora.
I enjoyed the storytelling style once I got into it. At first it seems like it takes tangents but after the initial chapter, it works very well to link in the history of the Prohibition era with the individual cases and scientific discoveries. A very informative and intriguing book.
The narrator's voice was commendable and more animated than other nonfiction books I've listened to previously.
